  1. Why can't I perform Peer-to-Peer transfers anymore?

In order to ensure that US members do not use NETELLER with the intent to gamble online, NETELLER is no longer offering its Peer-to-Peer service in the US.

Why isn’t my account certified anymore?

US member accounts have been temporarily de-certified to revoke Peer-to-Peer capabilities. These accounts should be automatically re-certified in the next 10 business days, but Peer-to-Peer transfers will no longer be available to US members.

    =======================================

I honestly think Neteller is taking a lot of steps to simply insure that there's no way American's, through their site in any way, are able to get funds ONTO "gambling" sites. I believe once the account are re-certified that you won't be able to transfer to a merchant OR a peer, and all that will be left for them to do is return the money to Americans. Right now though they're just insuring you can't fund the "gambling" sites. We'll see at the end of the 10 business days though.
  2. Sounds like they are rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, but I hope you are correct!
  3. or 2-4 weeks or 6-8 weeks or years.

maybe they will give us a 90 day notice (oops, I doubt it).

Good news is all of our accounts will be certified. The bad news is we still aren't going to see dough.

The sites we do business with need to distance themselves from these people.
  4. What they really meant:

    Why can't I perform Peer-to-Peer transfers anymore?

In order to ensure that US members do not get hold of their money we are disabling this feature.

Why isn’t my account certified anymore?

US member accounts have been temporarily de-certified while we cash them out and distribute it to our friends and families. These accounts should be automatically re-certified in the next 10 business days, after all of OUR checks clear. Please note that the Peer-to-Peer transfers will no longer be available to US members as there is no way we would have messed up and left $$$ in any US accounts. Please contact the WTO if you have issues.
  5. MyDogBonny has it about right. I would add something like

In the past few weeks money has been flying out of neteller accounts at an amazing rate. We're not sure we can pay it all and we don't want anyone to know that yet, so we've put everything on hold for a few weeks. The only way americans were getting their money was through p2p transfers so we have disabled that feature to insure that some of that money stays in our bank accounts a little longer.
  6. I don't think there's any doubt that we'll never be able to use neteller to fund "gambling" habits ever again...we won't.

At this point though, people with money locked up in their accounts simply want some assurance that they WILL get their funds, and that involves their accounts being certified again. Neteller's just covering all their bases.

I don't think they're MAD that people were doing P2P transfers at all (neteller makes 1.9% on each of these, they made a MINT on these transfers). They simply can't guarentee that the money transfered WASN'T being used for "gambling."
