Instructors and coaches in the red

    Why does it seem like most instructors and coaches are in the red for high stakes.

    - Brian Townswend when on bad run before multi accted

    - CTS or cole south as of the start of this year according to high stakes db (think just ftp) hes down almost 300k

    -whitelime offers $1200 coaching per hr hes done almost 1 million in cash, but i believe he won the 25k nl hu hold em on ftp for like 560k

    - eric lui (i think that cr guy peachy) down like 462k+

    all stats started 2008

    whose an intructor who kills high stakes regularly?
    Haven't seen GP around lately but he owns...

    I think he came second to David Singer but I could be wrong.

    These stats are just for this year and only on FTP right?

    yea all from this year and yes think he did get 2nd to david stinger and other stinger got like 3-4th

    Whitelime and CTS are likely just experiencing variance and on a downswing. The games they play (6 max and HU NLH and PLO) are extremely high variance, especially at those stakes. I don't believe eric lui and brian townsend are winners long term in regular games 50/100 and above. That said, some players are better teachers than they are players, and there's something to be said for that. I remember hearing sheets use this exmaple when he used to teach people to prepare for the bar exam. He said he could teach people to get a perfect score on it, but it doesn't mean that he can get one himself.

    let's just ignore the fact that they had to be up soooo many hundreds of thousands of dollars to even play at the stakes they are playing at.

    Someone who's balling enough to lose a million bucks at 50/100 probably got it by ripping 5/10 to shreds.

    eric lui won party bad beat jackpot for 6 figs , and then yes he ripped up 5/10.

    whitelime made 200k in 07 and lost like 980k this yr so far before stop playing nose bleed stakes.

    If you play high stakes DONT TEACH obv you run bad afterwards and competition is normally ivey, durrr, omgclay, gg u
