He maintains that the guy calling with KQ here was a bad call. With two people yet to act behind. He thinks that he should get more credit for the shove.
I disagree so I was wondering what you all think? What range are you calling with on that turn and is the KQ call justified? -
The mistake was made this hand pushing the call 1000 button before the flop.. You cant expect 3R players to fold top pair.
-
Fold p/f?
-
What hand is your friend trying to rep here? The guy has top pair/2nd best kicker and in all likelihood AK is not out there as no one raised pre. He's getting good odds to call and I would imagine if your friend is limping K7s in early position then he probably doesn't have the tightest of images. I think KQ is a pretty standard call in this instance. KQ is about the extent of my calling range, but that's because I'm folding any worse hand with a K in it preflop.
-
This is exactly why folding pre is 10x easier/better.
-
I agree guys, don't get me wrong here. But do you all think the call by KQ is standard?
-
I played on MrCash2006's table in the $3 rebuy yesterday and given the way he was playing, I wouldn't think he really has a clue what he's talking about, some edification:

I will answer the question posed though:
1. He should not even be in the hand at all, K7s is a weak holding and playing it passively pre flop from early position is about the worst way it can be played I think, just fold.
2. With that bet by on such a dry flop by ymack, and then 3 calls behind (including MrCash), it's pretty obvious that K7 is no good here.
3. On the turn we pick up a semi good card, as it gives us more outs, but it's a horrendous card to be shoving on because (a) he overshoves, and overshoves tend to get little respect (as is the case here), and (b) if one of the other 3 players made a loose call or loose raise on the flop with a 5, then they certainly aren't folding.
overall I'd say it was a very poorly played hand, I don't know if it's a great call with KQ, but i think he certainly played it than MrCash did. -
f MrCash2006, scammer and a cheat
-
is mrcash a scammin d bag in real life too ?
o yea and he makes me look like a competent poker player -
mr cash is a scammer
-
Well I can't comment on any of this, but I do agree the play is pretty bullshit.
-
F MrCash such a dbag
-
He played this really badly. The overshove on the turn is especially weak and I would snap call KQ against it. In this tourney, it's more likely a bluff or a bad kicker than a tricky set play.
