  1. I was playing in a local live tournament Tuesday night when an interesting hand came up involving POker HO, but not really. The local tournament is a pretty good one. Usually about 80-100 people show up for the $60 buy in every Tuesday night, so there is a pretty decent payout at the end. I was at a 6 handed table with 18 people left. A hand developed with 2 people at my table which ended up in a split pot. The person in the BB and the person in the cutoff seat were involved. The person in the cutoff seat appeared to be a friend of HO's that he was watching play, neither one of them was Poker HO. In fact, POker HO had already been busted out of the tournament and was watching the action at our table from the rail. When the chips were divided up there was 1 extra $100 chip. The people at our table concluded that the person in the worst position would get the extra chip, that being the player in the BB. POker HO immediately chimed up that our decision was wrong, and the person 1 to the right of the dealer should get the chip because the BB was the best position. Everybody disagreed with HO who got a little loud and a bit angry thinking he was right. The tournament director came over to our table and awarded correctly the extra chip to the person in the BB and our play went on. I was kind of shocked that a player, that your website promotes as one of the most elite online players in the world would make 2 mistakes like that.
    1. WE all know that the BB is in worst position than the cutoff seat is AND

    2. POker HO wasnt in the hand, at the table, or even in the tournament and should have kept his yapper shut.

My question is how do all of you feel about his actions here. I think he was way out of line to even say a word since he wasnt in the hand, at the table, or even in the tournament....and how do you all feel in general about people chiming in from the rail about a situation that doesnt involve them?
  2. As a former dealer I have to say that different casinos treat "extra chips" different ways. In the one I dealt in .. extra chips went to the first person counter clockwise from the dealer button. It did not matter who had better position that was just the rule.

  3. Tournaments are different than cash games. The integrity of the tournament requires that any possible mistakes be corrected before they are incorrectable. In a tournament, I certainly will not allow a pot to be pushed to the wrong person at my table, whether I'm in the hand or not. I have also corrected a pot being pushed to the wrong player from the rail in the Ladies event at the 2004 WPO. I knew neither of the players. It happened to be one of those cases where the players and dealers can easily miss a better made hand. (Aces allin on the flop against a flopped two pair. The river paired the board, giving aces up the better two pair, which the dealer and everyone else missed.)

The TDA rules have stated that the extra chip should be awarded to the first winning player to the left of the button. But each room may or may not follow the TDA rules. They may have their own house rules, which could be different. In any case, if the dealer doesnt know what to do (which can be the case if they dont run a lot of tournaments there), then the dealer should call for the floor, not ask for recommendations from the table.
  4. the fact that HO is ranked has nothing to do with it... i play in the same tourney, and many others in the area , that mark plays in, he is and always has been a great guy i was not there when this happened, but in the end the steve(TD) took are of the situation, as always, and play continued, maybe, mark got loud, big deal, that also could have been the rum talkin... either way , this is no place to "smear" a players name for a mistake in opinion.
  5. Essentially it varies by tournament, dependant on the rules set forward. The same thing can happen with a dead small blind, most sites just leave out the small blind, pokerstars moves it up thereby having a player actually miss the big blind. Ho just went for what he felt was right. If he was vocal, so what, I have never known him to be overly rude. On a side note, if either of you could email me the new location for that tournament, I used to play in it last fall (won it 1 out of the 4 times I played it), but I coach basketball during the winter and therefor stopped playing. I know Mark said it moved to a different location near the airport, if anyone could send me the start time and new bar I would appreciate it. Send to bradlussier@yahoo.com

  6. i got you bd... will send you directions
  7. I never respond to anything said about me here good or bad , But this idiot changed that. First of all the hand was over when you were "trying" for 10 min to chop a 4k pot then crying like a little bitch over the 25dollar chip that was left. you were crying"worst position worst position" and i said the chip go's to the worst player. AND I WAS RIGHT you got the chip. Second you come on this site made for "real poker players" and throw my name on the title of your crap in the hopes that someone will read it. Why didnt you say somthing to my face LIKE A MAN .If your mommy ever gives you alittle extra in your allowance lets play someheads up PUNK................................bdluss..the game is at the landing strip it right by the airport you should be able to find it EZ next tuesday its a white building and you will see cubby in the parkinglot crawling on the ground looking for his teeth

He seems a little irritated. Anyone out there care to wager? All action is

between friends, except for NoLimitPro as he has to pay up front. Just a litle

    joke.

  11. Thanks ho, I should be there next tuesday defending my crown from october when I last played. Be good to play live, havent played live in about a month. Anyways, I will buy ya one, cause that is some funny shit you just said.

  12. Two things, first HO is by no means a small man. No ripped or anything, but after all he lives in Wisconsin and owns a bar, recipe for a bigger guy (not overly big though). Second, although I never read any of his books, in Helmuths book Bad Beats and Lucky Draws he tells a story of playing in Ho's bar and Ho's brother holding down Helmuth choking him. Hellmuth is by no means a small guy. I give Ho 9-1 odds

  13. First of all..your not going to find a guy who knows more about poker than H0. second...He is the nicest guy on earth. Your obviously envious of his play, knowledge of the game, and his accomplishments! He is an awesome player...an even nicer guy. Maybe you should try to get to know him or LEARN from him instead of being a Tard and using his name to read this crap!
  14. 9-1 is good with me. I'll put the $200 that NLP owes me down on HO.

  15. My bet is chubby doesnt show for the next tourney.
  16. I have my own question cubby.
What kind of guy has a beef with someone, doesnt say anything to him and then goes home and spends an hour or so writing a letter whining about him and the situation in a public forum like p5s?
  17. Hey Cubby, Shut it!!!!!!!!!!!! hey HO CAN U TAKE A WEB CAM TUESDAY AND BROADCAST FROM THE PARKING LOT. PAY PER VIEW .
  18. What a spineless, low life piece of dog crap you are cubby. You hide behind a website like a child. Not to mention airing a personal grievance that has nothing to do with this site.

In Texas boys like you normally stay at home because it's too dangerous outside the house. Might have to come visit you H0 just to partake in this local action.

  19. Tough subject.
  20. MY POINT HERE IS THAT IT DOESNT MATTER WHO YOU ARE, WHAT YOUR NAME IS, HOW BIG YOU ARE, HOW MANY TOURNAMENTS YOU HAVE WON, HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE, HOW SKILLED A PLAYER YOU ARE, I FEEL THAT IF YOU ARE ON THE RAIL, AND NOT INVOLVED IN ANY WAY WITH THE HAND, TOURNAMENT, OR DECISION AT A PARTICULAR TABLE, YOU SHOULD ZIP IT. THATS ALL.

IT WAS NOT MY INTENTION TO "SMEAR A NAME" OR ANYTHING ELSE LIKE THAT, AND MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE SAID "A RANKED PLAYER FROM YOUR SITE" INSTEAD OF USING A NAME. MY APOLOGIES IF I HAVE OFFENDED ANYBODY. I JUST WANTED TO HEAR SOME OPINIONS ABOUT RAILBIRDS INTERFEARING IN A SITUATION THAT DOESNT EFFECT THEM.

  21. BOLD CAPS OR no bold caps. I have HO 9-1 for $200 easy.

  22. I gotta chime in: how bout y'all just stop sucking ho's **** and see the real point of the post. The man asked a legitimate question which no one yet has even attempted to discuss or answer.
  23. Chubby let me know if u come here to Vegas for the WSOP so i can bury u in the desert. Spoilah u can come also....I'll dig a hole big enough for two.

  24. I don't care about any of this, I just find it so funny to what extremes people defend their online poker heroes. Shame on me for questoning the mighty.
  25. Anyways, I think Cubby is crying out for attention here, but it is a GOOD question. I think this would have made a GREAT post if a certain name of P0ker H0 had been left out. Maybe like this..."a ranked player on ur list was on the rail shouting."

Regarding the question, the dealer/floorman always make the decision, even if the player on the rail is right and the floorman is wrong, it is not that person's place to interfere.
  26. How does 'on the rail' differ from making a big fuss about something in which you are not involved? Just curious
  27. bd,

With all due respect, have you seen Hellmuth with his shirt off in those WPT/WSOP (I forget which it was) promos. I think my niece could whip his butt and she's 5'6" 110 lbs.
  28. At Foxwoods it is closest to the dealer button.
  29. She sounds hot, any pictures?
  30. LMFAO @ Cunningham!!!
