i'm curious what everyone thinks about how people will play against sammy at the main event this year. after most of have watch the high stakes poker show and seen how loose he can play do you think this hurts or helps him this year?
obviously he's going to get a lot of action because it seems he is so often he rarely has a great starting hand. will he need to hit more cards and just get paid off or will he be able to outplay his opponents? obviously coolering someone the first hand to stack them helps a lot. i wonder if he will mix up his game a little and not play so loosely and try to trap more with larger hands. -
LOL

Sammy's great at hand reading and postflop play, so I'd expect him to do what he usually does: see lots of cheap flops and apply pressure when he's pretty sure the other guy doesn't have crap. When he does hit a big hand, he'll definitely get paid off because of his rep.

didnt sammy win a bracelet this year already?

I think people who think sam is going to play as loose as he does in cash games are gonna get in trouble anyway. No doubt sam will LAG it up quite often in the ME but he will not play as loose as he does in cash games!

he'll prolly built his stack up by waiting for all the donk actors to donk all der chips to him again hehe
-
If he has 50,000 chips before the dinner break on Day 1 again, then we'll play the same way we did last year - CAREFULLY!!!!

Great point. I'm sure if you were the one in the "donk actors" shoes you would have folded.

Umm... since when did playing LAG mean you don't get good starting hands... -
what i meant was in relation to the number of hands he plays. no man is seeing %45 of flops with good starting hands. you saw the show. how often was he calling raises with AK-AJ or solid pairs. no he was in there with 3 5 suited, A4? and the like. he'll still get good cards but more often than not he's gonna have garbage.

dunno TJ, I would of bet out and wait for Sammy to move in instead of going all in on da flop?

I played at his table for a while in the first $2500 6max this year. He played very tight and unexciting poker and busted out fairly shortly; I advised him that I was on to his trick of playing super loose in the big events and big cash games to try to give a false image and set up a big score in the $2500 tourney. He looked at me like I was a piece of phlegm. Another fantastic WSOP story!
