    Been doing live updates for poker news at the irish open and the antes up guys caught this

    Bit of background,

    A Battle of the blinds sees bystanders dodging chips in the Irish Open! Tournament director Liam Flood is called into action as tempers flare and chips fly! Terry Mcdaid, in the Small Blind, raises 5,000 and Trevor Mcgoona, in the big blind, re-raises him to 20,000. Mcdaid than moves allin Mcgoona asks Mcdaid, "what you have?" and he replies "I have queens". Mcgoona stares him down for an age and spectators can tell there’s real genuine animosity between the two.

    Mcgonna eventually and very reluctantly folds and Mcdaid shows pocket 9’s. Mcgoona looses all control and slams down into his chip stack stating he "had kings" and sending them flying all over the Burlington ballroom with more than a few becoming ensconced in other player’s stacks. The tournament staff quickly restores order and manages to re-appropriate the chips as best they can. Mcgoona is dispatched outside for a twenty minute penalty cooling off penalty.

    Well I was standing in front of Mcgoona and my update partner is the bloke in the green t-shirt he pushes past. This is how we saw it and none where closer.

    Wait, this guy actually folded KK in a blind vs blind to a single reraise . . .?

    Would anyone here EVER do that?

    yeah im a bit confused.. it says that mcgoon RERAISED... and then in the second paragraph, you say mcgoon folded

    ok so this looks like mcdaid has been reraised yet is asked what he has so he says QQ...
    yet now mcdoona folds and he was the one who last raised...
    then mcdaid shows 99 and mcgoona loses it after being told guy had QQ yet he had KK????

    just a lil confusing who had what and who reraised pre - im wondering if there was an allin pre that was missed?? or the names mixed up???

    Sorry guys My mistake, in my defence its been a long been a long week! have edited the post mcdaid then moved in after Mcgonnas 20K reraise.

    If you're going to dump kings when re-raised pre-flop, then you may as well fold everything except aces, since most people DREAM of being re-raised all in when they have kings.

    Is there anyone here who would NOT have called that bet?

    Besides, I thought he said he had queens and then flipped 9's.

    KK verses 99 are the same odds as KK verses QQ as far as I know?

    That video is as clear as mud - they could all be ordering pizza for what I can make out of it.

    your probably marginally better off with 9s then Qs against kings what with the extra straight outs

    losing your temper in that style is a bit worrying, I bet his wife/girlfriend/gay lover lives in permanent fear of him, "yes darling, definitely darling STRAIGHT AWAY darling"

    Only thing I can think is he believed the player who was saying he had QQ was trying to be deceptive, inferring he had AA. In any case, your going to have to break me with KK in a SB vs BB battle.
