Not sure if this post got moved cuz of the title or the content, but I was hoping to get some feedback...
11 players left in UB $30 tourney. I think this is a standard play here, but the rest of the table and the rail thought i was a complete idiot. This included Lykan Khan who i know is a good player and won the UB $200 tonight.
Thoughts?

Personally, I dont think your play was bad in any way. Simply put, if its a satellite and 10 get seats, then its a bad play, or if your about to crack the bubble, possibly questionable, even though I think the play there is good as well. All in all, the play is good and justifiable, your playing to win, not to slide up 1 more spot on the pay ladder. Unforunate suckout, play to win, simple as that. Final table or not, your goal was to make sure you were a huge stack heading into the final table, so its a good play. Be comfortable that you made the right play. Although it can be contested, there is no definitive "right" play.

Shit, yeah, that was the right play to make, especially if you've been successful at stealing from the smaller stacks who are desperately hanging on to make the FT. So what if you double this guy up? You'll make back the 10k in one round of pushing people around again. Lemme guess...the lead pisser and moaner was someone who had A-rag with the A
and would have called except you played it like a man.
Maybe it's because I sat around and whined about how badly I played in the last WSOP qualifier satellite on stars last night...but whiners can LMB. -
Well the guy who folded didn't tell me what he had. It didn't suprise me that most of the players at the table thought I made a bad play. After all, this was a $30 tourney, and not everyone has played enough poker to know how to go for the win.
What suprised me was that someone as good as Lykan_Khan, who has won at least two $200 UB tourneys, could say i made a bad play and was a moron. I think it had to do with the fact that he seemed to be friends with the guy I bet out of the pot. Even still, how could anyone in their right mind think I made a bad play? Who cares about knocking out a guy and making the final table? I got heads up against a guy i had dominated while getting over 2.5:1 on my money. -
good play period
-
you're only asking this because you lost the hand you know it was the right play before you posted it
-
Well I obviously think it was the right play. Losing the hand had nothing to do with me posting this hand, other than the fact that I wouldn't have caught so much shit if I had won the hand. I just was in shock that someone who has had so much success could possibly think it was a bad play, and proceed to talk shit from the rail.
