  1. Parttimepoker.com is a staking site I'm sure most of you know about. I have been a member for a little over a year but am now learning how extremely crooked it is. One of their major mods even rolled on someone a while back. It's crazy. I know it seems trivial but this is just a ridiculous matter. I met someone through P5s and decided to go over to his house because he is around my campus. Unfortunately, he's MIA 4 months later and I get semi-banned because I shared his IP once. My backer vouched for me...he's very popular on the site...but it makes no difference. They expect me to pay or get him to pay before I can get my money off the site or do anything else. Here's the link...have fun.

    http://forum.parttimepoker.com/appea...move-ig-d.html

Pretty much I have no choice but to bend over and take it. Ridiculous.
  2. It's fine. If people start responding asking to be staked, we'll ban them

  3. what is his p5 name?
  4. Well I don't think I'll reveal that at this time. It has only been a week and I don't want to start any rumors. He seems like a straight up guy and I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. If it is confirmed then yeah but I don't want to ruin his reputation with rumors. Even if he rolled or didn't, their banning of me is uncalled for.

  5. isnt hard to figure out. he hasnt been here since the 28th fwiw
  6. Yeah I know...even so the issue I'm concerned about is the people affected by his rolling. Why am I responsible for getting him to pay?

  7. Im staked through that site, never had a problem with it...but def seen enough "bad odd things" around the site to know I'll never give the site a dime unless I'm clearing a profitable stake

You aren't responsible to get him to pay. Your acct has been flagged as being affiliated with a fraudulent or delinquent acct. To protect integrity of the site, your account has been crippled, in order to ensure no more of that activity continues. Obv it is solely based on that one instance with the matching IP addresses, but that creates a relationship between the two accounts. The relationship, while it does not prove you will act maliciously, it does mean your acct has a higher likelihood of doing so. The site wants to prevent fraudulent activity, and have created policies to protect their users. Unfortunately, you got hit. It may seem unfair, but it's the best course of action for PTP to take.
Again, you are not responsible to get him to pay, but you won't have full access to the site again, unless he does make good. Maybe there should be a 'vouching' process, where someone's identity could be verified, get more than a screen name, like a phone number and address. Poker is a business, more and more each day it needs to be treated like one. It's hard to collect on degenerates if you have no way to contact them other than email or PM.
  9. leave this shit on PTP imo.
  10. sketchy site lol so many issues
  11. i bet i can guess who the shady one is on that site. 2 of my friends have used it and told me some stuff about it, which is why i signed up for chipmeup instead.
  12. ^^ Seems all I hear are bad things, especially about the mods

100% sure you wouldn't say that if it were you in this situation. They do expect me to contribute...and even say to try to communicate with him, making it my responsibility if I ever want to use their site again. And even so, my money is frozen.

  14. Shitty situation, hopefully that guy pays and clears it up.. I don't see why you are responsible though, especially if they only matched it up once..

Who is the Mod there you are referring to that has rolled a stake?

Read parttimepoker rules and conditions or whatever, before you come whining here. They have 100% right to ban you. Shit happens.

Again, I'm sure you wouldn't be saying that if you were in my situation. From the rules, I thought it was like my roommate can't have an account...not that I go over to someone's house once. And even if the rules do say that...that's why it's shady.

Me either man...and it's not like he says...you are responsible. It's just that if I want to use the site again, I become responsible because I'm the one suffering because of his actions.

    Mod was Loonbat.

I said I wouldn't reveal who the original roller was. Not the Mod. And yes they are going to hold it until everything is paid. I can't Sap my shares for anything.

He wasn't going to reveal who the IU Scammer was that made his account severely restricted.. Outing a former Mod who scammed that community over a year ago is a different story.. I guess every site has a Chaz :/

Also, it doesn't sound like it will be cleared unless the IU Scammer makes good on his debts which isn't likely..
  21. when i was staking people, i was refered to ptp on numerous occasions, i havent gave it any consideration due to the fact there always seem to be a bad story of some sort about it..how does the majority feel about this site

Although I feel for OP, I also feel the site is decent for the most part.. There are stories like this now and again where innocent people get dragging into other people's messes.. For the most part, things run smoothly though..
  23. I like the site. No complaints here, tho I play on much lower stakes than most of you guys.

And yes I would say this if it happened to me, because I read the rules of the site before I joined
  25. For some reason my posts aren't going through. Anyways, PTP has rules set in place before you joined the site. The mods aren't "crooked", they're simply enforcing rules that were ALREADY SET IN PLACE. If you don't agree with the rules, then don't use the site. The fact of the matter is you HAD A MATCHING IP WITH A ROLLER. A necessary precaution is to DNS your account because you have a direct link with a roller. This is to protect investors from future rollings.
    <span>

It sucks, because I believe your story, but at the end of the day, that's all it is. Your story. While everyone wants to believe you're telling the truth, it's just too hard to prove. For all we know he could be your best friend.

  26. And I don't get how your Loonbat reference is at all relevant. It's honestly like the same exact thing that Chaz, an ex-mod, did here. Are we blaming P5s for that? No. That's silly. No one saw that coming and it sucks that it happened.

  28. Gotta be honest, if people actually knew how to read the rules of the site before joining the site(seems logical enough), then people wouldn't be so shocked when something happened like this.

Rule makes perfect sense btw; sorry you're butthurt.

Oh come on...you expect people to use logic in this thread?
