So I've finally played 10,000 SNG's on Stars. That's a bit of a grind (subtle understatement). I'm happy with the results though. I don't know any other player on Stars who has maintained a 16% ROI playing my level of volume so I can't complain. I may be an "arrogant prick" (as some pocketfivers have called me), but for two years I have heard people talking about the top low stakes SNG players and I'm never mentioned. My numbers compare favorably with just about anybody you want to name who plays below the $60 level.
I know that everyone criticizes my style of play but I wasn't aware that there were style points awarded at the tables. And yes, I know it's amazing that after all these games I'm still not busto since I continue to call off my stack on the bubble with 9-2 offsuit. To all the fools who say variance will catch up with me and I'm just a luckbox donk, well, I'm still waiting... where's that variance that you speak of?
Eventually I'll be looking to tackle the higher stakes turbos but for right now I think I'll just continue to crush $16's and $27's while looking for the occasional score in an MTT. Playing low stakes can be tedious, but it pays the bills.
See you at the tables. I've given up trying to scare the good players away from sitting in my games. They all insist that they're better than me anyway, so there's no point to it. -
Actually, I've mentioned that I thought you were the best $27 turbo SnG grinder on stars, heh.. I dont feel like looking up the times I've mentioned you, but take my word for it. :) <$60 buyin turbo SnGs, you're the best IMO.

congrats... its tough to grind out that many and wish I had that kind of motivation.

way to go dude.. mad props
do your thing man, who gives a damn what anyone else says. -

Self-important braggadocio by means of faux self-deprecation? Very well-played sir.

Why move up? If he's 4-tabling $27 turbo SnGs with an ROI of 16%, at an average of 45 minutes per SnG, he's making $23.04 an hour... That's assuming he plays a session of 4 and finishes them all before opening a new one. Which I'm sure is not the case... So assuming he can make close to $30 an hour 4-tabling (he probably does more than 4 at a time) that is not too bad of an income for sitting in front of a computer...
-
Id pat you on the back but there appears to be no room since you are still patting yourself on the back with both hands.
-
you seriously should have moved up to the $60 turbos like 8000 sng's ago. playing 10,000 sng's and only have $30,000 to show for it is actually pretty disappointing.

congrats, very impressive no matter what anyone says...
anxious to see stats if you ever decide to move up...great luck with whatever you decide -
way to go man, def a very good poker mind. Im extremely impressed with your results but ive yet to understand why you dont transition into cash games. You could def make more money as you are a great player and it wouldnt take you too long to adjust. I think maybe you should look to expand your poker game by shifting instead of continued domination. Maybe there is a reason you constantly crush them, all the players of your ability have moved on to bigger money making things.
Just a thought to think about,

If I played as many SnG's as you albatross I'd have similar numbers. I've played a quarter of what you've played on Stars and I want to kill myself when I play a SnG. You are definitely one of the best at that level, that's true, but what boggles my mind is the exact same thing luckybacon posted. $30K in profit and still playing the levels you do is horrid.
You need to explore other games where you could be making a lot more money. I haven't played more than a 100 SnG's in the past month or two, because I'm learning cash games. I used to hate them, but they're where all the money's at brother. Give it some thought. -

sharkzilla for prez?

sounds like a waste of time

How long did it take you to log the 10,000 games?
-
Well done.
How long did it take? -
a little over 10,000 hours
-
10,000 hours of gametime though... so if you 6 or 8 table and open new ones as you get knocked out it's much less of actual realtime play.
So how long did it take in realtime? -
I hope you're kidding.
-
What was your $/hour? thats only stat that ever really matters to me. So I can compare it to having a real job.
-
I'm kinda pissed at this thread actually. You made a super great brag post, but when folks who were actually interested in your results started asking you questions you didn't even respond.
