Though i think im adding a lot to my game lately and running deeper alot more often than i used to, ive developed a really bad impulse to do really stoopid shit in my endgame i never used to.
Latest examples include
been down to 10 in the 20k turbo on stars and callin off most of the 4th biggest stack with k8off just coz i had a 'feeling' the villain was pushing light,
or pushing back 12bb in the bb to a button limp with jqoff with 1 waay too passive player left to go in a satty to the turbo takedown.
what the hell is that about ? tiredness? lack of focus? its not like i throw it everytime but its never been part of my endgame at all.
ive come to recognise the importance of getting a little reckless at points in the game where i would have never done so in the past but im also gutted that im throwing away real good advantages and chances- usually when i feel like one of the strongest players and know i have room to pick better spots
Is this something any of you winning players have been through or indeed deal with?. -
Really sounds like you have anxiety and this causes you to lose focus when under pressure.

Final table bubbles sometimes take forever to burst, try to relax and don't try to force things. -
wow. thanks,
i had to laugh that one off when i read it earlier coz thats a bit serious but shit in my lunchbox if that aint on the money.
(i was thinking it was more like a side effect of getting silly with bigstacks or some crap-
like when u start floating alot and you can start to think a lot of calls ur getting are with air)
But it could be just the pressure of these points at the moment + no BR + work full time and about to build a house. certainly been feeling the beats alot more..
thanks for the (1) reply, worth 50! =) -
I do it too. I find a way to blow a stack late in mtt's. I have so many 10th-100th place finishes.

Its such a very fine line.
When it goes wrong your a jerk, when it works your a hero.
Blinds are so large towards the end, its easy to spew off a lot of chips, especially when you go card dead.
I wouldnt be too hard on yourself. -
I definitely do more than my share of spewing off chips in silly spots if I'm not properly focused. It's ok to spew a stack sometimes if you understand why you made the move and it still seemed correct in hindsight based on your available information. (This is when it can be helpful to run the hand by a buddy or post in a forum for additional viewpoints to get a better perspective about whether other players feel the play made sense). However, when you already know you did the wrong thing, regardless of whether you doubled up or busted, you should re-examine your approach to playing poker and determine what steps you need to take to play your best as frequently as possible. good luck!

i spew heaps late fxb;klxnb;lknbldmznmgfz;lknmfbkn .

i used to do this a lot, still do but not as much...i just lose my mind when im down to a few tables and play way to aggressive so if i only have like 2-3 tournies left ill usually fire up like 15 sngs, cashtables, play some random computer game, just somethign to basically distract me from playing like an idiot

brain farts. errbody gets em.

Adderal...either will make you focus or spin you up like a top, not tired
-
Yeah it would be all of those things. I didn't mean to suggest you have some anxiety problem. But being super deep in an MTT can be stressful, especially if it means a lot because you dont get to play often. Because it's stressful it makes you want to get it over with quickly, subconsciously, and you become impatient and make impulsive decisions. Experience and knowing what to expect will most certainly cure this.

Basically you need to avoid making mistakes, or at least keep your mistakes small. Wait for others to make mistakes, or induce them to make mistakes, and be there to capatilise on it when they do.
