i honestly don't know much about bankroll management. lol
would you buyin if u had 30k, 50k, 100k? -
If you are only planning on taking a shot once in a blue moon, I would think its ok to do that with a $30k or $50k roll. If you plan on playing in it every Monday, gotta have more than $50k roll I would imagine.
You should try to satty into it if you can. -
1k and a dream
-
$200k would be ideal. $100k if you can afford to replenish your roll. Playing this only on occasion would allow you to get away with less.
-
I got like 4k in my account right now and i'm playing it today...truth be told..most guys I've met in the high stakes arena don't practice bankroll management...push down on the gas and see if you crash is the attitude i see more than anything else.
If you're the shit, then you can't win if you are not in the fight...
so my plan is to ship the 1k today..
with that said, people will tell you 100k plus etc...but if you look in the cashier of most of these cats, they aint got no 100k there...jmho.
JD -
Remember though, that a lot of the guys and gals playing the 1K are backed.
-
i usually try to win into it, but buyin directly once and while .... i wasn't planning on buying in today but i wanted to hear peoples opinions....maybe next week:)
good luck JD i hope you ship it! -
5k for a shot

$1060 obv

i agree with this, 20k might be pushing it, but with 30k+ really no reason to not just buy str8 into it. 100 buyin rule is only an abi rule as far as im concerned
-
just deposit a $100 or whatever it costs to satellite into it.

would you say its ok to play a $150+13 every night on a 40k roll? what if instead of playing the 75k on ftp every night (which would be over 1k in buyins per week), i never played it and used that 1k of buyins to play the 1k Monday instead? I mean 40k with an abi of $200, which is a high abi (just look at some of the best players abi as a comparison) is still 200 buyins...

also, not sure what u mean by roll, some ppl say roll and its their total money, some ppl say roll and its the roll they have on that site, im saying a roll on a site of 40k -
you dont need a roll, just some rich backers

I'm not really understanding what you're getting at. It sounds as if you're saying "since you're going to spend the 1k in tournaments anyways, just play the 1k tournament". It makes 0 sense to play one 1k instead of several 150s given a 40kish roll. In fact, it's foolish to just play 1ks and not add in lower tournaments to reduce variance. Add the fact that the 1ks simply are not soft and there isn't much dead money, you're way better off playing several smaller tournies.
Now if you simply want to take a shot at the 1k cus you feel ok to lose 1k, almost any roll would suffice. -
I'm gonna sell blood until I get 1k worth then play it. Hopefully I don't have AIDS.. Karma FTW
