Aggressive player in Seat 1 raises to $11 everyone fold to me? Call or Raise?
Seat 1 has raised with KT, KJ, 77, TT, QQ in the past
Both have over $200 in chips -
being out of position - oop - I would only play JJ one of two ways post flop. push on flop that's under T or trap if I hit a set. otherwise, I'm laying it down.
that being said, I think a reraise to 30 would be appropriate - knowing that I might lose that bet if the flop came AQ4. reraising says strength and would give him reason to fold if the flop were small. (you want to tell a convincing story) But you could also just smooth call and still get agressive after the flop. my only concern with this is him calling with Ace/Face on a small flop and sucking out on the turn or river. So I prefer to push back at an agressive player pre-flop. There's the possibility he might just surrender the hand pf too.
The beauty of reraising is even if an A hits, and you check, he just might check behind fearing that you're trapping. so your reraise may earn you a few free cards - esp if he's player a pp that's under 10 with no set.
don't know if this helps, but it's very situational. -
he could be raising with any number of hands if the hands you've listed are in his range. I re-raise to 35, only hands in his range that have you beat are re-raising you here. This gets you information on the strength of his hand, gives you an oppurtunity to take the pot down now and maybe buy you a free turn cards if he does call you and you check the flop.

This guy is totally retarded. Push the flop? dude its cash game you should be re raising here something like 40 for a live game would probably be most proper. If you get 4 bet youre in a tough spot but probably a fold then.
-
retard? I've seen AK call on a draw with the flop T high.
as I said, - it's situational - if the villian is agressive - you've got to push back. Even if it's an overbet on the flop, it sends a signal to the agressor not to mess with you. Bullies don't like players who push back. It's a +ev play if you're going to stay seated at this table for more than 3 more minutes.
repopping it 40 is cool - but 30-35 sends the same message. And if the agressor 4-bets it, you lose less chips.
might not be the way you play - but then again, I'm not into name-calling either. -
are u all idiots... he didnt even declare what position he was in...

um... name of thread is pocket Jacks in Big Blind at live 1/2 No Limit Cash Game...
I think that means he's facing a raise preflop with Jacks - and is heads up - in the BIG BLIND.
don't have to take the advice- but often, you'll find interesting things to think about.
if the player is LAG - a repop is essential.
if he's TAG, a call with intent to fold isn't unreasonable.
the beauty of poker is there is no right answer. your answer would change depending on lots of factors.
if you're looking for a black and white answer, then poker maybe isn't for you. -
it says BB jackass
