From the Bellagio 25k Cardplayer updates:
Jordan Morgan raises to 700 and is called by three players including Joe Hachem on the button.
The flop comes A-7-4 and everyone checks. The turn is a 6 and Morgan bets 2,000. Hachem quickly raises to 7,000. Morgan takes a few moments and reraises to 12,000. Hachem puts in yet another reraise to 22,000. Then Morgan moves all in for 49,000 total, another 27,000 more to Hachem.
Hachem has roughly 27,000 in his stack, and it is unclear who has who covered. Hachem tanks for several long minutes, thinking things over. Eventually, Hachem asks, "You got 8-5 kid?"
After another minute passes or so, Hachem mucks 5-3 for the second nut straight. The table and the crowd that has formed are stunned, and Morgan tables pocket aces.
After the hand, Morgan is up to 96,300. Hachem is sitting with just under 25,000.
WTF? -
he was obv letting Tom McEvoy play for him... that's more pathetic than Lee Childs folding QQ at WSOP FT to Jaime Gold.
-
wtf?..
-
i respect that he went with his read and all but wtf how can he fold this? theres a much better chance he flopped a set here than having 85. its probably one of those moments where he was playing to well for his own good.
-
I've done that, but thankfully not at a major full of spectators. At least he can fall back on one of those minor victories of his. I think he is one of the better recent winners of the WSOPME, he's just trying to be quicker than the fly instead of smarter.
-
not as bad as xtedforrestx :P
-
I have played every hand in the month of April much MUCH worse than this.
Also, since Hachem is a superuser he knew the river would have paired the board and he would have been facked. -
lol... oops? Jaime Gold...... Jerry Yang..... Was not real sure they were 2 different people.... MY BAD dickears but you get the point.. BAD FOLD
-
OBV Misclick
-
so what goes through your head if you're Jordan Morgan and you're all in and the guy behind you basically says he's got you killed...how do you keep that 'oh holy fuck' look from popping out? 99% of the poker world can't/won't lay that down so you're basically holding on for a miracle fold while 'knowing' your tourney is over.
-
heh, i was reading this post and read up until before it was shown that he had AA and was gonna post something to the effect of, 'hachem should be embarassed about folding this hand since morgan clearly has AA'
Anyways, Im pretty impressed that my read here was correct even though I'm sure most of you, including myself probably think AA is very obvious here. I'm very surprised that morgan went ahead and raised up all in here, he surely must have read hachem for having 77 or 66.
Also,
who is Jordan Morgan and why does his name ring a bell to me? I'm drawin a blank here. then again, I am retarded -
I predict Hachem will never win another major main event in his lifetime.
Don't get me wrong, he is a great player and certainly the best recent player to win the main event. I just think that he outthinks himself too many times. Is Jordan Morgan kicking it up here in the one hole with the only hand that beats him? Come on Joe, he has a set and puts you on a lower set. If you're going to take a flop with that hand, you can't fear the other guy to have another rag hand. -
sure, Hachem is retarded and this is so bad, but....
why the hell is everyone giving Jordan a free pass here? This isn't exactly the optimal way to play top set here imo.............................. -
well, the only really less than optimal thing he did was convince himself that it was the best hand.
I don't think anyone can blame the guy for checking a set on the flop there on that board, except for the fact it looks awfully suspicious lol -
lol was just going to say this, both players played it pretty bad, obviously hachem more then jordan
-
lol was just going to say this, both players played it pretty bad, obviously hachem more then jordan. that is unless jordan really turned his hand into a bluff with the 5b thinking hachem would fold second to the nuts, and ill just give a big LOL to that
