OR DON'T DO IT...... don't lean on your elbows why you play. Use a mouse, blink your eyes, walk around every 30 minutes, stretch, sit up right, drink lots of water, don't talk on the phone, don't watch TV, don't aim, don't search the web, don't play hungover, don't drink and play, don't drink and drive, this is important. Most of all, have fun, always have fun, afterall, its just a game.

maybe best thread in forever... rusownage. don't throw your mouse/break laptop/show anger. acting angry creates further anger creates bad play. never give up. always stay positive. don't play when you don't want to play. don't forget to eat/drink throughout the day. always get a decent night's sleep. etc etc etc

don't read p5s while playing and realize you've been doing everything wrong since poker was invented
-
i play in between palm readings.. is that ok?
-
Wait what is wrong with not using a mouse? And the elbows?
-
dont try and skin up inbetween hands, makes for a shit bliffter.

Stop drinking while playing, even if its only a couple of beers. Stop thinking a certain site (stars in my case) has it out to get you just because you bust every tourney there to a beat. Continue to explore creative +ev plays and don't beat self up when they don't work out as planned. Keep eyes on the big picture at all times!!
(great thread imo) -
Pretty sure smoking crack is +EV, just don't run out.

POTY, and thank you Ruso, I was about to forget the part in bold.

HOWEVER, no animals where harmed, so the mouse is ok! -
Wii Bowling is +Ev
The required wrist action for strikes increases blood flow. Therefore increasing brain power. -
I LOVE threads like these. They are so rare. When the top top top top top top players in the game give you a glimpse into their incredible mindsets.
Success doesn't come only through amazing play, but amazing mindsets.
I'd love to see tons more threads like these where the best of the best openly spill their thoughts.. not on poker strategy but on how they think and how they approach the many challenges of life, including poker. -
BUT ITS NOT JUST A GAME

Nice, this thread does rock! for more indight similar to this make sure you def. check out TheMavens blog, Hes ranked top 100 in the world, a great guy, and a very smart person. AllinBlind posted the link above. I highly reccommend it. If you like what you see, leave a comment, and hopefully it will entice him to share more of his brain.
Frenchy-Using a mouse is helpful for the carpal tunnel and it just makes things quicker and easier when your MTTing. The elbow thing- many poker players use their elbows to lean and rest the head on when they are in a train of thought, The pressure you put on your ulnar nerve eventually starts to wear it down and causes you to lose feeling in the whole outside of your arm. I know this from experience. More of a health thing, same w blinking, stretching, walking around and staying hydrated, sleeping well, eating right. These all cause you to be healthier and much more sharp in return make your poker game that much better.
Aaron_- you own, that is all, in fact you all do, thx for the nice replys.
Agame- You are right, I have been letting my game slip a bit, its a game of evolution and my adapting skills arn't up to par. Right now Im trying to find a balance between becoming better at the game itself and becoming great at all the intangibles. As I personally feel the intangibles are just as important.
Theres a lot of good feed back in this thread, and imput, if theres something you learned over the years to help benefit your game throw it down. Wheteher your a pro or amateur, theres no such thing as bad information. Well, may be false information, okay so there is, lool, Im a donk. -

Don't whine, don't berate donks, don't forget where the $ comes from, don't over-value marginal hands, don't bluff off your stack against a calling station, don't forget most poker players are calling stations, and most of all...
Don't blame variance when you play like shit. You know you do!
Happy New Year! -
Always watch NHL Center ICe package while playing.
