  1. Ok...I'm neither way on the subject but I love stirring the coals and actually I think Adam and the others should maybe not take the backseat and think about something like this

First off, this site has the only TRUE online poker rankings, this is basically like the AP College Football Rankings of internet players, the one people take seriously. Now with everyone taking that in agreement there is a lot of seriousness which is put into their rankings and they do a great job. With that seriousness should also come sort of an explanation or rules, which they have laid out but a situation has never come up like the one that has recently. Now to make it clear where I am coming from is, where is the Pocketfives stance on ranking known "cheaters". There is no question that JJ Prodigy is a great player, and a rankable player as he has shown, but should he be ranked when he clearly he doesnt play by the rules put forth on poker sites. Pete Rose, great baseball player, but may never be in the Hall of Fame because he broke a cardinal rule that Major League Baseball had put forth. Mark McGwire and Rafeal Palmeiro did the same thing, broke a rule and now both are in question to make the Hall with great numbers. Ben Johnson, a great Canadian sprinter and for using steroids had his medal and world record stripped away. The fact is they all broke rules set up to keep a competive game as fair to all as possible. They cheated, and have paid the price, what is Pocketfives stance on all of this. No matter what, when JJ Prodigy sits at a table he will be feared because he is a good player. The question is though, with lots of people playing online poker, and playing by the rules, hoping someday they will be good enough to be ranked on Pocketfives, should JJ Prodigy be exempt from any ranking punishment at all? Thats the same thing as any professional athlete taking steroids WHILE EVERYONE KNOWS IT and being considered better than a "clean" athlete. No doubt he's a good player, but if he is a known cheater and using multiple accounts, what other illegal corners does he cut to win? Maybe none, but if he's certainly not legit, does he deserve a ranking at all......
Interesting to see what P5s does with the rankings from all this......
  2. good lord..... any reason to be a complete ass? Did you ever think that maybe they are waiting for the dust to settle and that maybe the have other real life issues they are dealing with? They bust there ass for everyone of us and theres no need to call them names. They dont have to do the rankings ! Get your head out of your ass
  3. Dragon the guy took the time to write a well thought out post about this issue and you respond with petty insults and childish name calling. You are the real ass here
  4. LOL. Not only were your edit comments comical, but, you, have OCD, when it comes, to using a comma. Try using a period, every, now and then, to break, up, your paragraph, of nonsense.,
  5. I would love to respond to your comments. The truth is, we haven't talked about this enough yet to decide how we're going to handle the issue of the rankings. It was only earlier today that it was determined what actually happened last Sunday, and I think you (and everyone) should cut us a little slack on the fact that a few hours later, we haven't yet made a formal announcement or changed the rankings.

The rankings are updated every Monday, and everyone's concerns will be addressed at that point. I would appreciate if you and everyone else on the site would keep from killing each other (and us) in the meantime.

  6. hey BG, it's all good, even at #5 TheBeat is still ranked higher then JJ, bc we all know TheBeat is #3
    12
  7. I will issue a formal apology in my post for any name calling and yes, you're right i guess the dust hasnt settled, i was just interested in hearing what the P5 directors had to say on any ranking issues. Adam you do a good job with the site, at the time of my EDIT statement I thought it was rather hypocritical of you to call for everyone to stop debating the topic when I hadnt seen you make a stance on it when that would have settled some of the arguments you are trying to end with just a "be quiet". No harm was meant and I know you have a life outside of pocketfives.com so I apologize, didnt mean it to sound so negative. As for the other guys who are attacking my post, go ahead and keep attacking it if you want, but I'd rather have this turn into a very logical discussion

and belowabove, I dont know if you took it the wrong way but I think JJ Prodigy is a phenominal player, I was just wondering about whether skill alone was the only part of the rankings, or if ethics came into play too.
