1. Is it just me or is it getting really tuff to play a good game of poker anymore? I am on the worst streak of my poker carrier! For those P5ers who have played with me on UB know that I am a solid player achieving multiple final tables in a single day. I haven’t sat at a final table or cashed in two months (except one SNG)! Now don’t get me wrong, I am by no means whining, I realize there are going to be times when it is just tuff luck. However, tuff luck seems to be coming in record numbers, i.e. rivers, bad beats and new player bad play. Maybe I just pissed off the Random Card Generator “Gods” (RCG which most sites use to deal cards) somehow, who knows maybe I haven’t made enough deposits over the past month to appease them…but damn this is getting insane! So here is what I am looking for…words of encouragement; is this just me or is anyone else experiencing the same? I would appreciate your input and insight. I would really appreciate word from those who are consistently doing well, what is your secret!

Sincerely,

Dash (Bad Beat) Alert

2. Me too. I have had the same problems online lately. I am going to take a break from all of the online sites for a while and just play live for now. The bad beats are horrendous with 1 and 2 outers hitting consistently.
3. I've been through this before a couple times. I can say no one always wins, not even the pros. Everyone who plays for any amount of time will run into these stretches of bad beats, bad luck, etc. The key from my experience is to watch your own play. You can extend a bad run by starting to play badly yourself. I know this from experience. I had a bad run a few months back and made it worse by taking unneccessary chances and playing terribly. Check your HH to see how your playing. If it looks like your playing less than your best, a break may be in order to get your game back together.
4. I have been on that stretch for about a month now as well. About a week ago I switched to cash games and have had some success, I figured it out about a year ago that when the poker gods of which you speak decide that you are no longer able to hit a flop or get the nuts in a tournament. That they will let you get it in a cash game. It is funny thing about online poker. Or it is just me. During these stretches I am lucky to make it past the first hour. It could be that I play really bad in tournaments to which is more likely the case.

Good luck,,,

Go try some omaha 8 and below those players are terrible. I suggest the 10-20 fixed game.
5. dash- ive always thought of you as a really good player. i've been through a few long, terrible streaks but eventually, although at the time it never feels this way- they will end and things will go back to normal. just keep plugging away and it will just happen on its own.

6. I know ur having a bad time hun, and i've seen many of the beats ur talking about. Unfortunately variance comes and goes all the time. I'm sure you'll get ur good run soon. Just keep playin solid, and like kevin said... look out for holes in ur game, u may not know they're there untill u start looking for them.

After every bad beat, go back and look at how u played the hand and if u coulda done something different earlier in the tourney that affected ur stack so u couldn't afford the bad beat. Its usually not the last hand that ends the tourney but more often how u played before that hand =)

7. its you
8. lol, I wish it was just me Crazy...I could at least change that part! But seriously, thanks everyone for the input, the consensus seems to be consistent...so it has to be somewhat accurate! Looking back I have notice that I have been taking more risks during play; probably playing more hands than I truly should have. Time to buckle down a bit; see how the cards are turning…take less risks until I see some changes in the hands I am getting.

Again, thanks so much for the input!

9. I remember when I went through a horrible streak about 4 months ago. It started when I was playing 2-4 NL shorthanded on UB. I had just lost 400 bucks on a hand where I had a full boat 7's full of 6 and my opponent rivered a 7's full of 10. After that I just spiralled it seemed as regardless of whether I was playing ring games on party, UB or stars I was either making mistakes or getting outdrawn or having a dtrong 2nd best hand vs someone elses monster. What I did was take a few days off and mentally start over with the BR I had left and started back with a tighter and less aggressive style for a while. I mean even if I had a hand like AJ or AQ I would sometimes fold it to strong raises just for the fear that I would be up against a big PP. Yes this would be considered bad play by some, but for a week or 2 I just wanted to get back to winning hands and money consistently to ge my confidence back.....
10. Just remember, variance is your friend.
