    Brand new at the table. hit my set. but did i play it to passively on the river? Am i allowed to be affraid of a JT in this situation?

    You played it too passively from the flop onwards imo. You need to bet the flop and turn much harder, and yes I think you missed a value bet on the river.

    sure your aloud to be afraid of it, but if he had the nuts would he really check call you all the way to the end and pass up the last bet (obviously JT played this way is going for a check raise on the river), usually they'll check raise on the turn.

    Also I think a value bet has a lot of merrit because of how strong your hand is in releation to the board. It's the 3rd nut hand, and you can pretty much rule out AA sine they would probably reraise preflop. so it's basically JT, then your hand. AK, AQ and maybe even AJ will pay you off from a 1/2 to a pot sized bet here.

    Granted KJ probably was folding to any bet, but it would've been worth it to find out.
