  2. IMO a nice laydown, only thing your ahead of that reraises is possibly TT or AK... and I doubt TT bets (prolly takes free card after turn).

  3. I dont like the fact you showed the laydown. But thats just me though.
  4. Randal,
Why the flat call PF? Also I likely raise the flop, but as played I am probably folding turn too.
  5. rdcrsn told me he had AQ
  6. You can only guess what he had as you didn't test him. That's the problem with just calling, you have nothing to base a read on.

I don't think I fold there. I also don't think I call the flop. A raise would tell you something more to assist you with a decision.
  7. raising for information is generally a bad idea. I raise in this situation on the flop is definately for value considering how underrepped your hand is.
  8. Your pre-flop raise represents a weak pair, maybe AK. Being out of position, your opponent goes for a value bet in the flop. They can easily fold TPTK here if you come back over the top. But you only call, in their mind fishing for a set. The flop is too dangerous to slow play a set into, so they now feel in control. You have them! The turn bet is less than the pot, again not commiting all their chips yet. Here you can smooth call, but if you do your are possibly commited...

I agree, rerasie the flop bet, even if just to 400. They will weak bet the turn if they do not improve, or even check to you, but with TPTK they will feel they have the hand won.

if you are going to play pocket Kings that weak now, what about later when you need to tke a hand down with them?
  9. I'd 4 bet preflop I think, as played I'd say this a standard fold.

o and lol @ the preflop bet representing a small pair/AK, icecold

  10. But value vs what? AQ is about the only hand that is plausible here that we would beat. Rdcrsn is, from what I remember, a solid thinking player. Would he reraise OOP with AQ this early, prob not. Hes prob reraising JJ-AA and AK. AK prob shuts down turn, but Id say a small % of time he double barrels. So if we do raise flop, then what are we trying to get to call that doesnt beat us (he prob folds 1010 and JJ to raise on flop) Overall, good fold imo.

  11. raising for information is a bad idea?

    I quit poker.
  12. I played a very similar hand in the Bodog 50K.... from the BB I raised 5 limpers 7 times the BB with KK, got one caller (button)-- flop was Q9x rainbow..... I lead out a pot sized bet and got re-raised all in (we were the 2 big stacks at the table at this time) I called and he flopped over 99.... I wish I was good enough to lay it down after getting repopped but I put him on AQ and thought he put me on AK.... or JJ.... I busto with KK oh well - I say gld.
  13. well he made the final table so it worked out for the best...i guess if he won that pot earlier the chips would have helped but none the less nice work back 2 back weeks in that tourney!
  14. I love your game almost as much as I hate this hand... yikes
