  1. Around 70 remain.

    Andrew = 38/38 11hs. He had called an 11bb BTN shove with AJ and got it in vs. KQ, and lost.

    Assuming that the BB (16/16 32hs) folds, we need 42% here to call.

    I have narrowed his range slightly as we are so deep into the tournament:

    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 45.703% 43.89% 01.82% 3811349028 157871062.00 { KQs, KQo }
    Hand 1: 54.297% 52.48% 01.82% 4557714736 157871062.00 { 22+, A2s+, K8s+, QTs+, JTs, A2o+, KJo+, QJo, J7o }

    I like to consider all options:

    FOLD: I don't think folding is terrible. It's close VS. his range. If he is on the BTN I'm not folding, but as the BB can wake up with a hand perhaps in the long run the value of calling is negated by this. Also, even if he is shoving the range determined by the equilibrium chart for 11bbs (which I think is rare), we only get 2.3% more equity VS. his range. I'm interested to know whether 2.3% equity in the long run is enough to warrant a call in this spot?

    CALL: I think my range is quite conservative - he could be a little pissed that he just lost half his stack, and could be shoving wider. If we win, we will have over 50bbs with 70 players remaining, putting us in good shape to continue putting pressure on people, and make a run for the FT (this in line with the 'home run' philosophy of tournament poker, where getting in the top 3 is our goal). If we lose, we still have a respectable stack and can still have the tools to pick up chips.

  2. I think his range can be a bit wider considering he just lost a bit of his stack i get it in here.

  3. Yeah, I'd be saying that his range is wider than you say because he is also very short stacked and in late position. I think KQ is good enough here, (though I was surprised to see that it was only 45% against that range) - but I do think the correct range should be wider.
