  1. Earlier this week I signed up for UltimateBet's SmackDown 7 heads-up Challenge. It's a $500+30 64-player tourney that lasts 5 weeks, and I figured I'd give it a shot. The tourney started on Saturday Feb 16th, and I got an email the night before reminding me to log in before the tourney seated everyone. It also said if I change my mind and decide I can't play the tourney, I can unregister up until 30 minutes before the tourney starts and I'll be refunded.

For several reasons, I decided to unregister from this tourney. It was 12 hours before the scheduled start and I hit the unregister button, but my account was not refunded. At that moment I noticed the lobby for the $500+30 SmackDown tourney had said it was a freeroll, and the buy-in was $0. Now I am upset for unregisterring, and I can't re-register because the software says the tourney is closed, and the player who I was supposed to play is at the table by himself now.

I now fear I may lose my $530 and not be allowed to play in the tourney. After a few frantic emails and IM's, I messaged KrazyKanuck on p5's in the hopes he could get me some help from UB.

The tourney was approaching, and no responses from ultimateBet to my repeated emails marked "*** URGENT" and I was losing hope. Then just 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the tourney, my phone rings and it's KrazyKanuck!!! After I explained my problem he put me on hold, and I can only imagine he was talking to support to help make sure I got my $530 buy-in back. Less than 1 minute passes and he tells me support has refunded the money back to my account!

So KK helped me just in the nick of time - I didn't want the tourney to start and have to resolve this issue after the fact.

Thanks for all your help KrazyKanuck - I'm glad I rememberred you're a UB pro!
It's important to note that KK doesn't have any idea who I am, and he was nice enough to go out of his way and make a phone call to help a fellow UB player out when I really needed some help. It's nice to know that KrazyKanuck was there to help me out.

  2. Agree... Lost track of how many time's KK's helped me when I've had a problem on UB... he goes out of his way to help. Def a great guy to have on MSN (brag post obv)
  3. ub still sucks balls helen lmu
  4. gg KK

  5. he has done this for me a couple of times as well, and doesn't really know me from a bar of soap.

    KK is a top bloke.

  6. KK has helped me on more times than i can count and is always patient and courteous. I observe his play alot and have also seen him help many other players at UB. He is one of the brighter points of UB!
  7. kk has helped me several times as well..hes a great guy
  8. He shouldnt have to be the only person that helps you guys out.. they should have a somewhat competent support team that can resolve problems like this.
  9. KK deserves a raise.
  10. KK is the only UB support they have that does their job.
  11. I'll agree with that. KK was kind enough to help me out with a problem about 3 years ago...and we have been good freinds ever since. he is one classy guy and one of UB's best assets!!
  12. I have to say KK is one of the reasons I stay with UB...while he hasn't ever needed to help me out...it is GREAT to see him doing nice things for others..especially when he doesnt have to....even with all the 'issues' UB has had over the years...KK has done his best and I am sure has shown them how customer support SHOULD work!! (oh...I stay at UB cause of Susie too!)
  13. That is awesome customer support. That is something I have learned, you are nothing without your support staff. Thanks KK for helping out a fellow member, that was really cool
  14. I'm so glad you posted what you did Jim. I have been a player at Ultimate Bet now for many years. I cannot tell you how many times KrazyKanuck has helped me out since he has been an ambassador for UB.

I had the exact same situation as you did Jim. I had registered for a tournament a couple days in advance, but was unable to play the tournament due to a family emergency. I was seconds away from giving up, since my 4 "urgent" emails to UB Customer Support did not seem to get UB's attention. I noticed KrazyKanuck playing on a table and asked him for his help. Not only did he get me the help I needed, but he actually sat out on the table he was playing on to help me.

There have been many times that I have been watching a table KrazyKanuck was playing on and witnessed him offer to help people that were not getting help or responses from Customer Support. I understand that Customer Support does their best to get to peoples issues as soon as possible. KrazyKanuck can offer services (perhaps just simple answers to simple questions) that would take several days for Customer Service to answer.

KrazyKanuck is a fantastic and necessary asset to Ultimate Bet.

Keep up the good work KrazyKanuck.

  15. Lots of us read posts by frustrated people. But how many of us immediately shoot an PM to a person who is barely an acquaintance, offer immediate & beneficial help, share contact information, and say, "feel free to email me any time." I havent, but KK has. Say what you want about UB & dis whomever you want. But, I really appreciate this guy.
  16. One night after a few bad beats I went to the 50 cent sng's to blow off some steam. On the waiting list is Krazy Kanuck. The game was a blast got me in a great mood. How many pro's are willing to play at such a low level and have fun with it. Let me tell you the table was electrified by KK's presence. Damn good show KK keep it up. houn
  17. KK is extremely helpful and always has been....huge asset to UB. As far as CS goes, I think we have reason to be optimistic there as well. It's going to take time to fix the mess that exists now, and I think the first step is that the people newly in charge there are actually aware of this AND empowered to fix it. The next step is going to take a while, and that's to actually make it happen....and then it's going to take a really long time for all the people who have given up on the site to come back. But at the very least, the ball is rolling now....it makes me optimistic that things will look better down the road

  18. i have been playing at UB for a few years and i can honestly say that w/out KK helping me out on several occasions, i wouldnt play there... give the man a raise and figure out a way to clone him
  19. agreed
Imagine if their support could actually help

    The site is a joke
  20. <chirp> <chirp>

    UBET is over.
  21. It's nice to see a blog like this commending an ambassador of <SPAN class=mark id=misspell-0>UB</SPAN>, in this case Jim aka <SPAN class=mark id=misspell-1>KK</SPAN>; while the CS has been weak in the past I believe <SPAN class=mark id=misspell-2>UB</SPAN> is really trying to bring it up to speed! It has been these guys (<SPAN class=mark id=misspell-3>UB</SPAN> Pros) who have really stepped up to the plate to resolve issues for the players as these transitions take place on <SPAN class=mark id=misspell-4>UB</SPAN>.

<SPAN class=mark id=misspell-5>UB</SPAN> continues to get better everyday from the efforts of management, players and most importantly the <SPAN class=mark id=misspell-7>UB</SPAN> Pros.

<SPAN class=mark id=misspell-8>KK</SPAN> has been there for me on more than one occasion and I can't say thank you enough!

Keep up the good work bud!

  22. all the guys at UB will go out of their way to help someone in need. KK, shawn rice, and debo. i know shawn has personally helped me a couple of times when time was agaisnt me. meaning he jumped right on it the second i asked! good men.
  23. Not only is KK an awesome ambassador, he's a good person, and a great friend. Keep up the good work bud!!!

  24. The UB Ambassadors are a HUGE reason why I have continued to play on UB over the years. I KNOW that if I ever have a problem that can't be resolved thru the normal CS channels, I can count on them.

WTG KK! A class act by a class gentleman.
  25. KK and the rest of the UB pros are nothing but class acts. Say what you want about UB and their shitty support (I can't argue with you there) but the pros who represent the site really bust their asses trying to help the common folk. KK, Debo, Shawn and H0 all go above and beyond the call of their job description and its a fuckin shame that the people behind the scenes at UB do not put the same amount of effort into helping the customers as these peeps do. Don't forget that when KK or one of the other ambasadors helps you, it's not required of them, they are doing it because they want to help you, like I said bash UB support and the site all you want but remember that no matter how questionable some of the decisions the site makes, there are still people who are breaking their backs to try to make UB a respectable place to play.
  26. KK is a great guy and he always is there to help P5ers and others in need. I have played a couple rinky dink sng's with him and he is fun to play with. He takes a lot of heat on P5's for being associated with UB but none the less keeps on posting new promos etc.

WTG KK glad you get some good press!
  27. KK has been a great ambassador for UB for a long time. He always go's to bat for the players and trys make the site better. It is a shame that they just don't listen. Keep up the good work KK they will wake up sooner or later,
  28. like many of the others said KK did the same for me....helped me resolve an issue with UB that I had been dealing with for over a year and within 1 week of KK finding out about my problem it was solved

KK 4 LIFE <-----GIVE THIS MAN A RAISE
  29. KrazyKanuck, P0ker H0, Debo34, Shawn Rice, and even Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth are all great. The ambassadors have all helped me out at one point in time on UB and all 6 of the above players have taken time out of their schedules to play in my private tournaments. UB has had some issues, but the core community of players is rock solid.
  30. I would be long gone as well, if not for KK. I can't imagine how time consuming all of his help is, but he never complains and just does it. I still owe you dinner. feld
