  1. First, let me say I am very excited about winning my Main Event seat on pokerstars! Their $650 1800ET tourney on Sunday is a great opportunity with 26 seats guaranteed.

The following hand came up with 56 people left - 55 getting seats. I was in the small blind with AA sitting in 48th place with 30,000 in chips (blinds at 2500/5000, 625 ante). There was one player under 10,000 (4 hands from the blinds) and about 4 players between 10,000-15,000 and we were hand for hand. 2nd biggest stack (who wasn't very active min-raised from early position with big stack in big blind. I thought about play for few seconds then folded AA pre (first time ever). Tournament was over 6 hands later before I was BB (although 2 or 3 shorts won there all-ins).

  2. Congrats on winning your seat. Also, in that situation I would say you may a good fold, no point risking a 12000$ package, almost certain sitout win.
  3. I hope you don't lay those down at the WSOP on the money bubble

    Congrats on the seat
  4. WTG Lou!

I was playing equally conservatively at the same time:

FYL... knowing that you saved this for two years just goes to show how bad this really is :).
  9. Def a standard fold in this situation, if it was live u wouldnt even be looking at ur cards. Well done sir, and GL in the Main Event!

  11. Awesome Job Lou, tell us how you do out there. GOOD LUCK BRO
  12. Very standard fold to anyone with half a brain. Congrats on your seat!

And LOL @ "Bax is my hero" for also playing super standard with his stack. Too funny.
  13. congrats on the win... yes you no question made the correct fold there... no point to risk having to shove any hand there when ur gtd to just ship the 12k if u sit out... that would be 1 baaaaaad way to bubble

    gl in the series
  14. How soft are these $650 satties on a scale of 1-10??

    1------------------------10

    softest hardest
  15. i watched the last 30 hands of this and bax was just pushing and raising cause hes such a sicko. There wasnt anyone at the table that could hurt him so he was just abusing people. Watched some guy lose with tens against j5 to bubble. Puke!
  16. WTG MAN! I won my PCA package this yr bc someone couldn't fold AA on the bubble. I was shorty with 12 package and 13 left big stack on other tbl shoving every hand and a guy in 8th called off with AA and 77 spiked a set and wwweeeeeee atlantis for the rest of us!!! U playing the Main? Either way nice fold and congrats
  17. Not the same value as your win, but in Sunday 100G satillites, 4 players getting seats, and me in mid of pack with 5 left, I folded AA pre, and won the seat. Another time, same satillite I had 1.5BB with 5 left, then second biggest stack battles with chip leader. Chip leader makes 2 pair on river to crack second players AA. I won the seat for that mistake, I would have waited until a player as short as me doubled up twice at least before getting involved with a stack that could cripple, or bust me.
  18. Congrats Lou! And Bax! Over the years you guys have continued to find ways to be successful online despite games getting tougher, strategies changing, etc.....not many faces from 2005 that everyone would still recognize now. Most of today's names were in Jr. High then. You guys are inspiring...

    Seriously dude?

Nowhere did I state anything about his play or even think anything about his play other than it being the exact opposite of folding AA, which is exactly what made his post funny. It was the punchline. But thanks for explaining "super standard play" to me. I will PM you next time I'm in a tough spot.

LOL, ok fair enough... my bad for assuming it was the comment of a random nut swinger with no brain. Clearly you have a brain and a good sense of wit. nh & wp.
  21. Thanks to everyone for the good wishes. I especially appreciate the kind words Adam - we do go back a long way.

God willing, I will sign with pokerstars, wear their logo, and play and final table the Main Event. I am also planning to play 2 or 3 weeks of preliminary events this year.
