  1. Hey all

Ok as i posted abit back i got a Sony Vaio laptop with 1GB Ram and bought an extra 1GB Expansion memory Module for £365, the one in my laptop has a speed of 4200 and the extra one they sent me has a speed of 5300, i posted about this and was told that the different speeds can cause problems, but Sony technical support says it wont so im confused??

They also said i had the option of returning my 5300 speed Ram Module if i wanted for a refund, so i wanted to know if A) it does cause some kind of problem having different speeds and B) Is 1 Gig ram enough for running pokertracker, PAHUD and 8 tables or do i really need 2GB?

    Thanks all
  2. If the memory speed is faster than the specs it should cause no problems. You get memory errors at times if you put slower memory into a system set up for higher speed memory. I assume laptops are the same as desktops in this regard.
  3. You don't need 2GB for PT, PAHUD and 8-tabling. You can do that with 128MB easily, no problem.

And 5300 will work ok at 4200 speeds. 4200 on the other hand, won't work on 5300 speeds.
  4. This is what im not sure about, the one in my system is 4200, the one i added along side it is 5300, so im not sure if the 4200 is working at the 5300 etc?
