Hey all
Ok as i posted abit back i got a Sony Vaio laptop with 1GB Ram and bought an extra 1GB Expansion memory Module for £365, the one in my laptop has a speed of 4200 and the extra one they sent me has a speed of 5300, i posted about this and was told that the different speeds can cause problems, but Sony technical support says it wont so im confused??
They also said i had the option of returning my 5300 speed Ram Module if i wanted for a refund, so i wanted to know if A) it does cause some kind of problem having different speeds and B) Is 1 Gig ram enough for running pokertracker, PAHUD and 8 tables or do i really need 2GB?
Thanks all -
If the memory speed is faster than the specs it should cause no problems. You get memory errors at times if you put slower memory into a system set up for higher speed memory. I assume laptops are the same as desktops in this regard.

You don't need 2GB for PT, PAHUD and 8-tabling. You can do that with 128MB easily, no problem.
And 5300 will work ok at 4200 speeds. 4200 on the other hand, won't work on 5300 speeds. -
This is what im not sure about, the one in my system is 4200, the one i added along side it is 5300, so im not sure if the 4200 is working at the 5300 etc?
