Hi I am 23 and I just moved out to Las vegas, from Michigan to play poker. I have been playing for five years. Mostly live action but I do play on the net often also. I am having kind of a hard time of it because I don't know hardly anyone and have been running bad as of late. I would like to tell you about one hand that I played recently, to see what you think of my play. I was playing 2-5 no limit at the Bellagio. The game had a lot of action. I was sitting in between a drunk spring breaker, and a drunk old guy. Three seats to my right was and elderly lady that was running over the game and also appeared to hate anyone with youth. She was playing pretty solid but a overly aggressive. I was on the button with QQ, she was the only one that had entered the pot. She had limped for 5, I made it 25 to go and both blinds folded she called. The flop came down 9 6 2 rainbow. She checked I bet 45 and she called quickly. The turn was a 5 she checked I bet 65, she called. the river was a Jack. She went all in for about 600, I only had 450 left in front of me. I thought about it and put her AK, AJ or pocket tens. I fiqured she was going all in no matter what the last card was. So I called and she flipped over JJ to anstonishment and horror.

that's a tough beat, but it's not as if she misplayed her hand at all, other than the initial limp, although some people play JJ very slow because it is so vulnerable to overcards. Perfect flop for both your hands, no overcards no dangerous draws (other than some UGLY str8 possibilities), probably no getting away from the hand. She caught a two outer. It sucks, but it happens. Next time try to get in more pots with the drunk guys on your right and left, rather than the cagey grandma! ; )
Best of luck in Sin City
