  1. This feature has been launched! Check out the PocketFives Poker Coaching directory.

    -----

Hi all, we will be launching a poker coaching directory in the near future.

If you're a poker coach or you'd like to get into coaching, please post in this thread or contact me via PM (I won't respond at first) expressing interest in being included. At the appropriate time, I will contact anyone who has expressed interest with more information.

Keep in mind that inclusion in the directory will require payment to offset our development costs but the "basic" option will be quite cheap as it's only meant to offset costs.

    Thanks!

    EDIT:

At the request of okse54, I am attaching more information. See the attached screenshot for a sample mockup. Obviously we're using gibberish/placeholders for things on the page right now so please look past the shortcomings. This directory will be a prominent subpage on PocketFives.

  9. No, lorem ipsum generators are common online.

FWIW, I've gotten a bunch of PMs and obviously there are a few posts in this thread. We've added the coaching profile form (http://www.pocketfives.com/settings/...coach_profile/) although there are some bugs with it (ie, like the lack of any options under favorite sites). Any feedback on the fields we're using is welcome. Also, you can fill out the form if you want to although there's no need to do it yet.

We will be announcing additional info and the structure of how things are going to work in the next week or two.

Keep the posts and PMs coming obv.

  17. how would it work? how would someone coach someone? all online? tests? I would definitely be interested in being coached by players who regularly win big money, but not quite sure how it would be done

How it would actually work would be up to the student and coach to determine. And it would be up to the student to research the coach, check references, do test sessions, etc. PocketFives itself would not be providing or vouching for any coaching through the directory. The point of the directory is simply to list off poker players who are willing to provide coaching services.

  19. Right on. Lets say you were going to coach, what types of methods can you think of? Sitting at a table I'm playing at and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Isnt that against most site's rules?
  20. I don't know the terms and conditions of every site so I can't say for sure.

However, typical coaching can be hand history review, letting a student watch the coach's session via TeamViewer with commentary, etc.

As with anything else, it's up to coaches and students to know and follow the rules of whichever site they play on.

  26. any1 know of a coach that teaches how to teach? I have had quite a few people request coaching from me but since I have never been coached myself I have no idea how to teach somebody else and dont want to take thier money if I cant help them

  27. i doubt u would have any trouble, just go over some of their hhs and show them exactly what they are doing wrong and tell them why its wrong. If you are worried about not being good at it maybe do a session for someone for free to see waht they think and it they got anything out of it.
