Was just thinking while watching this latest group on HSP including Lex.. It's amazing how good some tv editing and a table full of weak players can make u look "like the next Phil Ivey" as I saw some players describe his WSOP Day 1 performance on here.
Then he sits down on HSP and basically gets owned by each and every player at the table at one point or another. I'm not hating, he's obv a good player. But he's a spewtard nonetheless and it's pretty comical to watch him play vs this caliber pf player and get crushed.
Makes for good tv imo -
Standard WSOP tv editing. Obv they're not showing every hand played in the tournament. And it was blatantly obv that they edited that episode to focus on all the bluffs he was pulling on players, and not showing any pots he may have lost or less exciting hands in general played by anybody else.
-
thought he got super flamed for his wsop tv performance? maybe im mistaken but thought there was huge thread slinging mud with him vs. others
-
agree with op, sure he crushed weak wsop early tables, but hes just got his shit handed to him on hsp

Raszi is still a really sick player, have played with him live a bit and online a bunch. He just ran really bad in that episode, I never saw him have the goods once and I'm sure if he ever did make hands it would certainly have looked much diff for him. Only thing I didn't like was his calldown with A8 vs negreanu who seems incapable of vbetting thin vs good players and wouldnt be bluffing that river ever imo.

Yeah insta call lol

ESPN edits out boring hands and includes those that have giant pots and exciting bluffs? Truly shocking.

I knocked him out of snowfest (brag), but he seemed to be pretty good and really aggressive when I was playing with him.
-
i mean he has what under 50 televised hands of poker and you can come to a conclusion of his abilities based on that? lol. he obv is very capable in the tournament scene - against these lineups i dont know where he stands if hes a winner or not, but against live/online tourny fields he can easily crush
-
yea he really comes off as a prick by the way he handles himself tho
according to PTR, which is not the most accurate site out there but is fairly good, he is -200k on stars over 1.5 million hands -
was pretty much gonna post exactly this. (minus the played with him alot part)

lol @ the op talkin shit, yeah man he got owned in the 3 or 4 hands he played against some of the BEST opposition the world in one of the biggest cashgames youre gonna find anywhere. this clearly makes him a spewtard lucksack whose only famous because some guy at espn likes his style. -
producers can ask any players in the world to come on the show
they ask lex
theres a reason
he's sick
that is all -
this is spot on imo. i actually think he was playing reasonably well besides that A8 call. i mean its not his fault that ivey sold his soul to the devil.

A lot to do with bad game selection IMO.
Dont think you should be playing with guys like Ivey, Antonius & Dwan that can move you off hands, because they have much bigger bank rolls.
Their going to out muscle you most of time. -

That lineup was pretty sick. Not sure he can profit at those stakes, with those players, in that situation just yet. I think that is a little bold to say. I think he is good player and could be capable though but I think he is out classed in that exact scenerio right now.

Listen to last weeks 2+2 podcast, Lex gives some background to that wsop table.
Also discusses the hands on HSP.
There is always a backstory and hands that lead to the ones they show on TV(moreso on espn coverage), that are boring as hell but really are ones that make the ground work for what happens to be covered on TV. -
OP - seriously?
I would hope that any person that that claims to be half decent at poker could understand that even the best get raped by the worst of players. If you can't admit that some inferior player has never bent you over and handed it to you with a hot run of cards, your full of sh*t. I would only think that even the best players would have rough sessions against some of the BEST players in the world.
Like wise, a8 was only hand not well played.
If you've never looked spewy or looked like an idiot, your probably doing something wrong. -
Lex is a very good player and will make mistakes but overall very strong.
-
I heard Raszi was very good. To base this shit on a few episodes of live poker is bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s
