Don't know if you noticed but lately, I see more and more people limping, in every position, in every stages of the tourney, and last but not least at any stakes!
So maybe I missed something but what the hell is that new fashion?
It's really annoying as these limping induces more people to enter the pot and you have to raise more to reduce the field preflop, most of the time, when you raise they all call so you are still blind before the flop...
Did you guys notcied that also ? How to handle that crappy situations ?
Cheers -
Yeah I know that, but lately people are limping much more.. Don't know maybe I missed something but I play 5-6 tourneys a day since 8 months and now it really seems to have changed since a couple of weeks.. Anyway my question was how do you handle this ? I mean I don't want to raise 20% of my time each time I enter a pot..

You're welcome :o) I was watching the final of Premier League Poker (UK) with the likes of Hellmuth and Liz Lieu playing, and the blinds were high compared to their chipstacks. Now normal theory would be to shove your stack if you get so low, but they were opting to limp instead. The commentators take was to say that they are limping because its too expensive to raise. Maybe some feel it adds a little more skill to the game rather than the shove and hope attitude.
And limping, whilst weak, is a cheaper option to see a flop and then decide whether to build a pot or not.
