hello to all pocketfivers! anyone like to limp UTG or limp a certain range of hand? what kind of hand you limp? do you think it's a good play? often you see a limper and then a raise and they come over the top all-in with either AA or 55.... what you think?

Come on guys, I think he's asking a very basic question and there is a more detailed answer.
Pre-antes, about 50-100bbs deep, I think it is ok to openlimp small pps, as well as some suited broadway and suited connectors/one-gappers. It is even better to limp behind with these hands (and suited aces) to induce more limps to create a low risk/high reward situation when you smash the flop. I would advise mixing in a premium hand once in a blue moon and raise with these speculative hands on occasion to ensure you do not have a completely predictable range.
Annette_15 wrote a great article on how to play small pps a couple of years ago, and you should look at it to get a better grip as to how to handle these hands in the early stages.
However, once antes kick in, or you drop into the 20-50bb range, or your table is punishing limpers to the point where you are folding too many hands with speculative value...

In general, when opening a pot, it's best to come in for a raise. But like everything in poker, there are always exceptions.
