For the naysayers who believe that we're in the midst of a slow death to online poker, I just want to put some perspective on things. To do so, I've chosen to take a look at BeL0WaB0Ve's PokerDB for pokerstars.

</span>I hope you get the point. While everyone worries and contemplates the end of online poker, the reality is that there has been TREMENDOUS growth from the same time last year, when online poker was booming. So stop worrying...there's a long, LONG ways to go before any of us should be thinking about the death of online poker as we know it. -
While you are correct, I think you could have included more statistics in there. Online poker could show significant growth in between the beginning of last year and the beginning of this year because no other tourneys are shown that can compare from after October or '06 (when all of this crap started). Comparing the numbers from October of '06 with those of now would be even more accurate. You are technically correct, however.

or it just shows that a lot of US players playing on other sites have migrated to stars...Show me something that aggregates all the sites' players a year ago to today and I'll believe you.

check out the brain on skank.
He is correct, when every other major site closed its doors PStars took on a lot of new players. That is no secret.
However, the OPs point is well taken and he is correct when he says that online poker is still alive and well, so thanks for the post. -
Exactly. Sites that still do business with US players are booming, but you are naive to think that the online poker market is stronger than it was. US players make up a huge majority of the poker players online and many are gone thanks to Netellers demise in the US.
Will they trickle back? Maybe. I don't think online poker is dead, but the landscape of poker online is very different and not as fish laden as it once was. I think the sharks will end up eating there own eventually if nobody steps up to fight this battle.
