  1. $100-15 live donkament at my local casino. 68 runners pays 7 spots.

    FT 6 handed

SB with 9.5bbs KTo folded to me.
BB 26bbs CL ( spewy, most active)

    1 stack is 5bbs, another 5.5bbs

    1st $2100
    2nd $1600
    3rd $1100
    4th $800
    5th $600
    6th $400

    shove/fold?
  2. If your playing scared money fold.

If you wanna ship the tournament shove, this is a profitable shove in this spot easily.
  3. Shove all day! Assuming antes are in effect...
  4. I'm shoving this spot every time it's folded to me. Also, not mad if I get called as well. Need to double up soon in order to have a shot at winning. I'm sure the big stack is just hoping that all of the smaller stacks are just playing to move up in pay so that when it gets down to the shorty that lasts the longest he's severely understacked. Have to take this spot if you want any chance to win the tourney.

  5. If these play anything like the ones I've been going to then I would happily shove. People seem all to happy to sit around and wait for premium hands in those things even when they are severely short stacked. I find everyone always just wants to wait till its down to 3 or 4 players and chop so their calling ranges are disgustingly tight.

I'm shoving with or without antes either way. If the big stack is spewy and a loose caller ever better as you may well get it in ahead.

  7. I'm probably shoving 90% of the deck here. KT is a monster in this spot.

  8. def a snap shove.... pretty big mistake to fold in that spot.
  9. I obv. snap shoved,

he says he has a hand and calls turns over 55, I brick!

just wanted confirmation, as i did the same thing last week for a min cash!

  10. Yeah shove every time. That sounds like shitty structure though being that you were 6 handed and two had only 5bb's and cl is 26bb. At what point would you guys try and chop? After the two 5bb stacks are out? If your down to 3 or 4 and everyone is 10 - 20bb's range? Or depending on the feel of the table? I'm assuming if it's something like 20 minute blinds you could easily get down to 3 or 4 handed and everyone has 10bb or less, at that point do you look for a chop? Heads up and both 10bbs do you try and chop? I have only chopped 1 tourney ever but that was a $100 tourney with 280 ppl and final table cl was 12bb's and I only had about 4 or 5bb's and we all agreed to basically get 4th place money which was like $2100 a piece and then cl got a little more, maybe $2500. I believe that was definitely + ev for me considering 9th was like $500 or 600. I generally don't chop if it's descent structure and I have a descent stack, can anyone give some general guidelines to when chopping is +ev?
  11. Chop when you don't think you have an edge at the table.

Yes the structure is terrible, but they players are worse! I have been playing these since Dec, 2011
and im running around 140%. 4K starting stacks 20 mins, 2 hours in the blinds go to 500/1k, then 1k/2k, then 2k /4k/. these almost always get chopped with 3-6 left. i usually have a good edge and always maximize my chop. biggest score was a 4 way chop 121 runners, asked for and got $2100 2nd place $$,

I like to get to 6 players left because the $$ goes up sooo much, plus the icm/nits tighten up so much its easy to chip up then ask for more $$$.
