10% rake 4$ max:
$1 Jackpot drop @ $20
Main pot $15
Side Pot $8
How much is raked from each pot for the house and jackpot? no coins are used for the rake only dollars. -
$3?
trick question>? -
No trickery, have a bet going with a guy.
He says $2 rake and $1 jackpot because the total of the pots was $23
I say $1 rake and $0 jackpot because the pots are supposed to be raked separately
main pot of $15 is Raked $1
The side pot is not raked because it is a new pot and $8 is not enough to rake.
Neither pot is over $20 so there is n jackpot drop.
What do you guys think?
Vegas Rules by the way, if that makes a difference. -
100% should be $2 raked, IDK about the jackpot and the situation is further complicated by the fact that we don't have chip denominations <$1.
You are correct that the pots should be raked separately, but the total amount of the pot >$20, so you take $2 in rake. Ideally you would take $1.50 from the main and $.5 from the side, but since that isn't possible it's $1 and $1.
Since this is a home game, I would say the jackpot doesn't get raked here to avoid complication and raping the main pot for more than it owes, but if you absolutely have to take it, it comes from the main pot, not the side pot. -
Used to deal poker. You're wrong. Very wrong. Your friend is right. Very right.

Also wrong. very wrong. If the qualifier is $20 for jackpot then it should be taken from side pot.

I guess that makes sense since that's the pot that made the total >$20.
Just seems like rape to take $2 from $8, but rules are rules. Thanks for clarifying cause I deal two nights a week. We don't take a jackpot so it wouldn't effect me, but it's good to know. -
$2 from main pot
$1 from side pot
yes you're getting raped but that what rake is
def have to take jackpot rake cause the guys eligible for side pot ARE eligible for the jackpot
and yes a $15 pot will get raped for a $2 rake because ties go to the person who makes the rules.
once raise UTG in a 1/2 game, everyone folded and the dealer gave me my $1 profit, that casino took $1 rake no matter AND $1 jackpot drop no matter AND the mfdealers keep 50cent chips (for breaking split pots only wtf)
edit: elusively what makes you think its a homegame? -
I'm not sure, I thought for some reason I read home game in the OP, but now I see that definitely isn't what happened. I guess I figured a casino would have very clear cut rules and wouldn't be debatable (thus, no bet for OP).
I'm pretty sure the casinos in AC don't rake preflop and we definitely don't at the home game I deal in. There are other home games that do rake preflop and they're usually the same ones that are taking like $10, sometimes more. -
$1 from main for jackpot
if the jackpot $1 is taken first, then another $1 should be take from the main and side pot..
if the rake comes out first, $2 from main pot for rake +$1 for jackpot..and $1 from side pot for rake.
