Tonight I was at my local casino and had this ALL IN hand come into play.
9 handed blinds 100-200.
I'm short stacked after 1st break with 700 chips.
One limper in EP, I raise all in (AQos) from button, and the BB calls 500...and the EP limper calls.
So the pot is 2200. And both players check down till the river, and then the EP limper bets 2000. The BB quickly mucks and the EP limper AND last action tosses his cards face down in a forward motion onto the felt (not in the muck).
What do you think is the ruling there? Arguments for or against?
The tourney director tells me to go to this website:
http://www.pokertda.com/ for the ruling LOL! -
Flip his hand over and gg you
-
his hand isnt dead unless it touches the muck, or he announces fold. the muck is like a super-death pile that it must touch to be killed. i even think if the dealer places his hands on them and begins to drag them into the muck, but doesn't complete it, then its still live as well.
the dealer probably knew the situation so he didn't instantly reach out to pull them to the muck which really is the only way i see u winning. i figure he looked at the guy like ummm you sure you dont wanna flip them over? this implies it wasnt dead and the player had the "option" to flip them over still so yea i figure youre outta luck -
Unfortunately, in live poker, the rulings that I have seen involving cases like this are, since his cards do not hit the muck or board, and only hits the felt, then his hand is still live.
The dealer would only have to turn these cards over as well as yours to decide who takes the pot. -
his hand is live unless it touches the muck as others have said .

Well the board was like k46 flop, turn 9...river ace. EP player had A-9os. Yes GG me. Thanks for the clarification. Wasn't like I got too upset at the place, I just figured a face forward motion with cards mucked was a fold. GL Keith---

yeah I would not think that his hand would be declared dead. If I were you I might be a little steamed naturally but as an outsider I would side with the ruling
-
If the dealer knows what he is doing,
he will turn the hand face up. No matter what both hand have to be turned face up with a player all in. This to avoid collusion.
If that hand is still clearly identifable, then it is still in play.
This is the proper ruling.
