  1. Alright, for those who frequent Atlantic City, where do you feel is the best place to play and more importantly, why do you feel this? I usually hit the Borgata because you can always get a game, however i tend to run into better players there and dont get paid off as much on bigger hands. With such a big room however, the better players are diluted into the large crowd. When i play at Harrah's, Taj, or Ballys even, I end up sitting at one of two active $1-2 tables and every dealer knows half the players by name. Of course that doesn't make them good players, it just means they play at the same place a lot.
  2. 2/5 at the trop is where i like to play.....obv borgat is nice and the best room but i only play tournaments there. Trust me......check out the trop, the play there is very poor, a lot of limpers and when you have the nuts over bet the hell out of it.....you'll get paid off.
  3. you wait for the weekend to play there? or is it just as good on thursdays?

  4. i think all this talk about the players being easier in different casinos on different days is really just a myth. let's face it, most of the $1/$2 players in atlantic city are trash, every $1/$2 game at every casino in AC is beatable on any given day of the week.

definately check out the borgata, it really is the bellagio of atlantic city IMO
  5. I agree with you Net Fan, but after playing at the various casinos in AC several times, the Tropicana by far has the softest 1/2 and 2/5 games. Don't get me wrong, there are a few local grinders in there, but as one poster stated above that if you have the nuts....bet the hell out of it because you will get paid. It's not uncommon to see 4-5 people to the flop even with a standard raise.
  6. for cash games i would deff go to borgata because they are generally better players and there is all ways a game. for mtt though check out the taj midnight tournys. they have a $38+12 mtt every week night at midnight amd a $100+20 on fridays
  7. As shitty as the Taj is, i always play there and make good amount playing the 1/2NL. Tried Borgata but not as successfull there for some reason. I am not sure what it is bout the Taj, but its where i feel very comfortable playing. And yes, overall, a lot of players at the 1/2 Nl are pretty bad. Combine that with the fact that over the weekends/Friday night there is a lot of drinking and partying going on, that equals more money for the serious players. Stay clear of alcohol and greasy foods; drink plenty of water and some redbull, and you are on your way to the riches....LOL
  8. For 1/2 and 2/5 NL, imo the Taj was always the softest historically because it was a tourist trap. I think this is quickly shifting to Borgata. Honestly the Taj, Borgata or Trop all have very soft 1/2 and 2/5 games so I just choose to go to Borgata anymore for the better atmosphere and eye candy on top of soft games.

  9. Ive played at the Taj a few times (MTT's and cash) and I just dont like the place. Ive made money at the 1/2 but i just dont feel like sitting in a dirty crowded room all day while I play. Same can be said about the Trop.

Like everyone else has said, the Borgata is huge and very nice (basically the waitresses are really hot). Never played the cash games there tho. I go there for their tourneys from time to time (the 50K fridays is a pretty good tourney).

Although no one else has said it, I play at Ceasars the most. I used to play $1/2 there all the time until I went back to school. I never play the MTT's there tho. The room only has about 30-40 tables but its nice. There is usually about 5 to 6 $1/2 games running at a time. Just like everywhere esle, Ceasars has its regualars. And playing there as much as I did, I knew almost all of them. And about 3 or 4 out of the bunch are actually any good. Dealars are friendly and the TV set-up is much better then Borgata (there TV's are about 50 feet straight up).

As for the lower limit MTTs I suggest the Showboat. They run $53+12 to $105+15 tourneys all day and they are the easiest game around. The structure is absolutely horrible but the game is so soft. I have played in their MTT's around 20 times and have made a FT at least 9 time, and made the final 2 about 13. And unlike Taj's $38+12 game, the rake isnt as horrible.

Just my suggestions. Play around and you'll figure out which places you like the best.
  10. i agree the showboat has the worst poker players in the world...i was actually there yesterday...played in the 11AM tounry...i basically folded the first hour to catch up on some sleep...some asian guy limped in every hand blind...it was hilarious to watch...then i limped with AJ suited for 600 with about 9k left 5 limpers.....flop A J 3 off suit....i bet 1k guy to my left goes all in for 2k...guy to my right call...i go all in..the guy to my right insta calls for 90% of his stack....wouldnt u know they both flip over K-10 off lol...ive never laughed so hard....obviously the Q hits on the turn...but the play there is so bad...its worth it to go

  11. there is a reason why 90% plus of players are long term losing players...only a very small percentage of palyers are truely winning players, a small percentage of break even and the rest just losers. But i can't complain about the play, for me its just great to see players whipp out 600 bills and lose it in less than an hours time. as someone already said it, players at the lowest stakes are just bad across most of the casinos in AC. Borgata is definitely a nice place to go and play. very nice atmosphere, great service (very good looking waitresses). Taj is just an old spot that a lot of people are used to.
  12. I used to play at the Trop, because it seemed that there were mostly drunk college aged kids, I am young myself so I fit right in, that would blow 300 in a 1-2 game in acouple of hours. When I moved up in stakes the Trop no longer offered the games I wanted to play in. Their highest games are 5-10NL, which rarely runs in my experience, and 7.50-15 LHE, which is the craziest game in town. When I moved up to 20-40 LHE, the Borgata was the only game in town. If I had known about the quality of players that play at the Borgata I would have definitely played there, exclusively. Most of the players in the 1-2 and 2-5 games are pretty bad. My wife plays in those games (mostly 1-2, just moved up to 2-5) and makes a pretty good profit. She is an above average player but by no means the best. If youare looking for the nicest room, it is the Borgata by far. I played a little bit at Caesar's but the dealers there are terrible.
  13. Two things: (1) borgata gives something like $1 an hour comps at the 1/2 level. what is the best place as far as taking care of their poker players. and (2) Anyone know about this Pinnacle place thats coming? any word on a poker room?
