  1. What is the standard amount to tip in a 1/2 game when you rake in a $20 pot? $50? $100? 200+?

Should you be tipping everytime you win a $15-30 hand on the flop?

    Thanks

P.S. I witnesses a guy raise utg to $15 and it folded around and he tipped dealer $4. I laughed.
  2. id say $1 for every pot you win over 30, and maybe a couple more if its a big one
  3. I would think it would depend on how your nite was going, the size of the pots and how good the dealer was at doing their job.

I'm going to tip more if I'm up a few hundred and the dealer keeps the table moving....
  4. 1:50 tip to pot ratio

  5. It depends on the quality of the dealer experience. Good dealers that keep the game moving deserve good compensation. Dealers that are slow and make mistakes should rarely get a tip unless they start getting a clue why they are at the table.

I don't know where you play but most poker rooms in Mississippi it's customary to tip a $1 when the 2% of the pot. If you are trying to make a living at poker, being overly generous will substantially reduce your bank roll.

Tourist can afford to be generous because it's an entertainment expense. Pros should tip because the good dealers (they work for the players) will move on if they don't get reasonable compensation. If you don't have dealers your game will dry up.
  6. I really hate these threads and think they should be locked....but I will answer before the standard "fuck dealers dont tip em" replies come in...

Tip whatever you are comfortable with man...if you don't want to tip, don't do it. If you are just having fun, tip $1-2 per hand and no dealer will ever complain. Pretty standard $1 per pot, and $1 per drink for the cocktail waitresses.

    +1

Used to deal and $1 per pot is always appreciated.
  8. Clay nailed it. If I get $1 a hand I'm happy. Tipping is optional, but appreciated.

I don't expect any tips if I make mistakes.
  9. I alway tip $1 unless I pull in a fairly substantial pot then it goes up depending on the pot but 98% of the time its prob $1
