  5. IMO you should just save your money and study hard. You're a terrible player and I wouldn't want to see you ruin this opportunity.

  16. anybody want to get together and start playing in pittsburgh??

i'd like to meet some of the online players in the area, and maybe hang out and grind some sundays (or any day for that matter)... i think it would be a great experience... anybody agree? i just got back from a long trip and really want to focus and get better.... the only way to do that is with hand discussions and talk with other players.... i'm just not getting that living with a roommate who doesn't know the first thing about poker...

pm me or respond in here and maybe we'll get some interest and we can plan something soon.....
  17. I'd be interested in meeting some decent players, playing some games in/near pittsburgh. I can't wait for July, but my strength being tournaments over cash games I'm a little apprehensive about the quality of the tournaments Rivers or Meadows will have...
  18. Regional casinos set to begin table games July 8
    Thursday, June 10, 2010
    By Tom Barnes, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

HARRISBURG -- Western Pennsylvania gamblers who like to play table games should circle July 8 on their calendars, because that's the day when roulette, dice, poker and blackjack are due to start at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, The Meadows racetrack/casino in Washington County and Presque Isle Downs racetrack/casino in Erie.

The state Gaming Control Board today released a schedule for the opening of table games in all nine casinos now operating in the state, with the three in western Pennsylvania coming first.

An eight-hour test period for live gambling will be held in the three casinos on July 6, with the results being evaluated July 7. If everything goes properly, table gaming will start July 8.

The casinos near Wilkes-Barre, Harrisburg and in the Poconos will start table games on July 13 and those in Bethlehem and the Philadelphia suburbs will start July 18.

All nine casinos have received a table games license from the board and have paid a one-time fee of $16.5 million, which is going into the state's general fund to help reduce the $1.23 billion budget deficit.

Kevin O'Toole, board director, said the roll-out schedule for table games was designed to ensure that no casino would make table games available to the public sooner than any other competitor in their region.

"We are going to be ready to go, no question, on July 8," said Meadows spokesman David LaTorre. "We are excited to be the first out of the gate in Pennsylvania."

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

  19. imo wheeling is way softer then mountaineer for cash. Its ridic how soft the 1/2 and 2/5 (when they're running) are. Tourneys are all crap shoots but july 8 when meadows opens their tables, should be a nice payday. Also from the pittsburgh area if people are going to the meadows for the opening pm me well grab a beer or two.
