  1. Going to try and make this as short as possible, but want to give full details of what happen. I will put cliff notes at the bottom.

Ok, playing the Mirage $150 buy in in Vegas Friday night. Didnt know at the time it is a bounty tourny and you get $50 per KO. I personally dont like that since it takes so much away from prize pool but whatever, I was in it to win it.

Only has 28 runners and payout were top 3. First ~1125, second 564, third 267.

We get down to 2 tables and this kid in his mid twenties comes to table with a massive stack and already 3 bounties. He is talking non stop. Telling about how he chopped a $60 buy in here over the summer yada yada. He says ' I mean if you get in the money it would be stupid not to chop, so you can all get more money'. I dont say anything and thinking to myself, this kid is a clown, whats the point in playing 6+hr tourny just to chop out ~600ish.

I stay quite and keep playing. We get down to 10 and this kid starts asking everyone if they want to chop. CL prob had around 45bb and majority of table had 20-30bb with a couple short stacks. No one gives it any interest and we keep playing.

I dont try and knock peoples game, but this kid was bad. Limps calling 7x raises then insta folding flops showing 24cc etc.

We get down to 5, with 2 older foreign guys that play decent, younger foreign guy, me and this other guy. He keeps going on about how we should chop and make around 400 each. I just saw lets keep playing. Another guy bust and kid keeps pressing to chop, im getting really annoyed and it dosnt help he is sitting to my direct right. He goes on and says how about we give 4th buy in back and then chop. I say 'I'm cool with giving 4th buy in back and well look at chips 3 way'. We all agree to give 4th money back and tell tourny director and she says that is between yall.

We play down and I end up shoving TT in BB to raise and call and the older foreign man had JJ. I flop a T (ez game I know) and guy is bust. So we are at 3. Kid stands up and says good game guys we get like 600 each. I go 'umm were playing this out' He goes off saying are you kidding me?? we all said we would chop. I said ' I said I would look when we got 3 way, no way Im chopping now I got a stack' He goes on for like 5 minutes about how I 're-nigged' etc. I just stack chips and say lets play. Kid wont shut up and keeps going on. We all had around 25-35bb. I did not want to chop at all because I knew I had a monster edge on both of these guys but finally cave in when the foreign man says lets all get $500 and winner gets $239 more. I agree(shouldnt have) but say sure.

Kid cools down a little bit and says ' no matter what happens, good game guys'. So I think everything is cool . There was nothing said to tourny director, but the dealer is hearing everything being said. I start steamrolling and go to no showdowns building up. Kid and other guy end up getting it all in and the kid wins. So im HU with the guy. I straight Teddy KGB stick it in this guy and just own him heads up. End up getting 2/1 lead and get it in JJ>88 pre for the win/brag

So this is when it gets good. I think everything is cool. Im expecting to get 829+ 250 for 5 bounties. Tourny director lady comes over with the payout sheet and casino chips. Kid starts saying 'you are such a bad person for re-nigging' on the deal', I just say, ' I never agreed to anything, no way im chopping even when I got chips guy'. He starts getting loud. Well lady gives us the money to each of us for bounties first. He had 6 bounties for $300. Lady tells him to sign the sheet that says he got paid out $500 cause thats what we agreed on and the guy that got 3rd received 500 since that is what we agreed on. Kids goes off and says ' so 2nd was $564, and I only get 500? that is fkn bullshit' I just snicker. He goes ' I aint signing shit, this is so fkd up, this bleep bleep bleep guy renigged on us 3 way now Im getting screwed.' Im looking at him like are you serious and go ' its 64 f'n dollers dude, you were trying to chop with 9 left get the fk out of her' he just goes off.

At this point the whole poker room is turned around looking at us and my brother who is 10+ crown and sprites deep comes over and says ' You just fkn crushes this dude! Lets fkn go!' Kid is getting so worked up and just cussing up a storm saying he isnt going to sign shit. I tell the tourny director ' I dont give a damn what hes not signing, I needs 829 and im out of here. All this time we are arguing the toruny lady does not say a word and just lets him yell. he goes off about how he is getting fkn screwed out of 64 bucks and that I need to give him that. I just say ' wanna walk out side and settle it there?' He says lets go and I say lead the way. Dealer steps in and trys to talk some sense into the guy. Then the kid says and I quote' Karma is a fkn bitch dude, you are gonna have really bad karma, I hope you fkn die in a car accident'. At this point I know this clown is off his rocker and just tell the director lady I need my money now, im out of here. I get my money and go. I go to the cage and use the bathroom to walk back by the room and the guy is still standing there talking to the director. Me and my bro jet.

How would yall have handled this situation??

Did I 'renig' after I the 4th guy was busted??

I felt Mirage director handled the entire situation terrible. They need to learn how to run/manage a poker toruny like the Venetian. I will never be playing poker at the Mirage again. Just wanted to share and get some insight on what others would have done if this occurred to them?

    Cliffs:

    -play mirage tourny
-kid is trying to chop 9 handed when 3 pay
    - we agree to give 4th 150 and LOOK at a chop 3 way
    - I say we keep playing 3 way and all agree on 500 each with winner getting 239 more
    - I pwnd dude HU
    - Kid wishes death on me cause he says he got 'screwed out of $64 bucks'
  2. lol nightly live tourney players

  3. lol honestly who chops?
  4. i love chop threads
  5. i cant imagine dealing with people like that, id prob just tell him to stfu and that im not saying another word to him or chopping because i know hes terrible
  6. Not too sure about the figures,
but shouldn't you be getting $739 ($500+$239)+ bounties?

  7. It would be interesting to hear him tell the whole story just to see how he remembered it. Not saying you are lying or anything but he probably thinks it all went down differently.
  8. Yea I would like to hear him tell the story as well. He was trying to explain what he thought was right to the dealer when I was leaving but I didnt stick around for it. Basically if he thought it wasnt right after we got 3 way he should have said im not playing another hand and got toruny director involved. But after we all agree on 500 each, winner gets rest. Thats the deal bottom line.

First if all, ummm, its "renege" lol. Although I may have just discovered what Gucci Mane means when he says BIR.

As for the situation, it sounds like the TD/floor didn't handle it well. Its their job to keep people like this in line and to make sure everyone is in agreement in a deal situation. The excuse I always use for not wanting to chop is travel distance. I would've said "I came all the way from XXX just to play this tournament, I don't mean to be rude but I would like to continue playing." I have said this multiple times in scenarios where all the players involved had agreed to a chop except for me. Most people will understand this sort of thing. We dont play tourneys to make friends... they dont have to like it, they just have to deal with it.
  12. hopefully you rolled up after!
  13. I have never understood live players desire to chop at every opportunity...that little money In the prize pool it's only worth chopping heads up even than if you feel you have an edge play it out...

I don't get it either. But I'll sure as hell take the option if it happens to benefit me.
  15. Had you been the shortstack when it got to 3-way would you have insisted that you already agreed to a 3-way chop? Also, why did you challenge him to fight outside then bitch out like a little girl?
  16. question to the OP - how much did you tip the dealers for the tournament?

he probably "appreciated" them $10 to start

  18. I agree with you Glo4m I should have said something along those lines. I will take that advice next time.

Why did I bitch out fighting him? cause I said lead the way and he immediately changed the subject. Plus my drunk brother keep egging him on and he obv didnt want to step outside.

I tipped the dealer that dealt to us for the last 45 min of the tournament from 4 way all the way to the end $25.

If I had been short stack when we got 3 way I would have listened to what kind of deal they wanted to do since I said I will look at chip stacks when it happens.

  19. A chop isn't a chop until all people agree. If there's still chips in front of you, it's still up for grabs.

I often refuse to chop just to tilt people. It's very +ev
  20. congrats!
  21. Congrats bfactor! I didn't even know you played live/had two accounts.
