I want to start a thread to basically commend or call out poker rooms around the world for their tournament structures. After playing some prelims at the Commerce, I am convinced that it is the best all around structure (all of the games) that I've ever seen. I have to give props to that room and will be heading back to many events there. That being said, I always commend the Borgata as well. The Bellagio has improved greatly in the past year and a half from when I first started playing there. I think the biggest shams of structures are the so called Venetian Deep Stack tourneys. The starting stack is great and all, but the structure is what really matters in the tournament. Missing key levels like 150/300 far outweigh the amount of starting chips. Now, I know that tournaments have to finish in a certain period of time and whatever and so forth, but at this point, I just feel like places that promote events based on structure or starting stack are just trying to fool everyone in the room. Obviously, the 10,000 vs. 5000 chips is better given the same structure. The WSOP probably has the worst structure for non hold-em limit games. I think the NL tournaments are actually ok given the field sizes. They have key levels that other tourney structures miss. I'm also still not sure how I feel about a 25/25 level. This is kind of a random post, but just wanted to see what other places are good and bad or horrible.
