anyone know of any live poker tournaments in texas. or whats the nearest casino?
-
from austin,tx its about equa distance to oklahoma casinos with poker as it is to lake charles, la. lake charles has many more options and casinos though so is probably the better option. It is about 5 and half hours according to google maps. Gambling is illegal in TX so there wont be any options unless u find a home game.

There are LOTS of underground rooms in Houston. If you want to find games in the Houston area, PM me and I'll give you some info.

Gambling in texas is not illegal. We have horse races, and slot machines at the track. Poker is not illegal either, only charging a rake, or other house fee is.

I actually moved from Austin about 2 years ago and know there are a lot of games around. Be very careful where you play though because I was robbed at a poker tournament at an apartment off Riverside. Not to say that it doesn't happen everywhere, but just be sure to play at a place that has decent security. I have not played anywhere but at a casino or my living room since. www.homepokergames.com is a good place to find a game around Austin if you choose.

I'm a mod on the site so let me know if you need some help finding games anywhere in the Houston area.

houston has the most obseen rake in the world, most 2-5 games or higher rake like 10-$20 a hand, and alot of the 5-10 and 10-$25 games rake like $20-$200 a hand depending on size of pot. most games play way bigger than the blinds cuz most underground games in texas have no max-buyin so ppl constantly have 300-1000bbs in front of them, but still highway robbery and besides my laziness, the main reason i dont play live cash anymore, only 2-3 players can beat the rake in a night if that
