  2. Odd hand. Just curious why didnt you bet the turn?

  3. I'd actually raise the flop and check the turn. Is that suboptimal?
  4. Insane hand indeed.
  5. ugh, i think this is really gross

raise flop? bet turn?????????????????????????????????????? get some chips in the pot son
  6. the minbet just screws up my action i think. so i was like screw it, we'll peel one card or maybe get someone to raise the minbet and call. then the turn i just felt like no one had anything on a very scary board.

  7. only losing to tt t8 and 99 he could be stupidly pushing the nut flush or something dumb even 77 might push there. very tight fold ill be trying to bluff you in future. he limped sb for 25 99?tt?. ac or t8 i think

  8. err theres a 4 card str8 flush out there.

i agree with those above, raise flop to 2-300.. bet turn.

  9. how bout the old straight flusher

  10. LOL @ "tight fold ill be trying to bluff you..."

4 to a straight flush on the board. So the cards you mentioned plus JX, or X6.

This was a $1000+ tournament...its a no brainer. FOLD. I would say 99.99999999% of the time you call and see the Nut straight flush. No reason to fall in love with your hand on that board.
  11. nice laydown.
  12. how is it a nice laydown?

its a freggin laydown a 2 year old makes. Roothlus buddy why are you soooo timid. Even your nl cash threads are like this. PUT MONEY IN THE POT for pete's sake

what better time to put money in the pot then on the turn when theres several hands willing to draw here... oie vae.
  13. why bet the river?
  14. Um because he's not Jennifer Tilly
  15. the only hand i see calling a value bet there that roothlus beats is Ac. after flop and turn action a better line would be to check down or check/call a bet by the opponent.
  16. LOL. these are only 2 hands out of a gazillion. Just happened the way I played this one was really slow. You think I play like this all the time?

  17. Lol, you guys are way off, I've been playing with the dude who shoved the river and ummmmm snap call very quickly.
  18. tough spot there!!
  19. uhm unless im missing some 15th level thinking or something here... I think his huge overbet just screams Ace high flush. If he had the str8 flush wouldnt a value bet be the way to go? I mean the idea here is to get paid off on your good hands not just take down small pots this early in the tourney. A 3/4 pot raise or pot raise here or even min raise tells me he has the str8 flush. Pushing with the nuts is just stupid...
  20. " LOL. these are only 2 hands out of a gazillion. Just happened the way I played this one was really slow. You think I play like this all the time?"

I fail to see how balancing your play applies to this kind of situation, where getting money in before the river is like, way standard
  21. i agree w/ kajun. If he had super nuts why would he bet so much? Im thinking super nuts value raises. Would be tough call though. If you call and he does have it you would feel dumb.

    always another hand.
  22. i dont think anyone in their right mind would make some sort of bet like this with the ace high flush on this board. its paired and its the 3rd nut flush. even seeing how the guy plays it doesn't matter, he's not doing this with the ace high flush.

  23. That is what makes the bet so sick, he figures rooth is extremely strong and straight shoving a pot at that stage for a bluff or flush is retarded, no value. Shoving the nuts on a board with a million things can trigger people in so many ways they dont know what to think. I think its a perfect fold.

  24. good fold rooth...no reason to take the gamble that early in tourny....
  25. I'll be honest I think its a bad fold. I would put him on the A high flush, you didnt play the hand like you had a full house. I dont think you gave SukoutonmeAA any reason to put you on a boat. If I were him I would think a A high flush was good.

With all the limping and check calling of min bets and seeing free a river, then going check-check 2/3 pot bet. I even think he could be bluffing you with nothing.

maybe thats what makes me a donk, but I woulda called.
  26. i always make sure i'm not the idiot thats the topic of the HH when i look at these threads. phew
  27. Its a good fold simply because of the fact that the raiser is inducing people like you to call with A high flush, any type of boat, or lower end straight flush.
  28. everytime i see an overbet like this the logic behind it is this.

"i have the nuts, and theres some very strong second nuts, no one can get away from it, so the max value is pushing"

its like this example in a cash game.

board comes AKQJ with 2 hearts. You bet out on turn and guy min raises you. He has the TEN you have the TEN + FD, so what do you do? Well you get it all in before he has a reason to fold. So you overbet the pot all-in and freeroll his ass big time. You do this because you know he wont fold so the overbet becomes irrelevant in the thinking process.

imo an all-in overbet is one of the sf's. Someone said that because people were check calling its unlikely they would have that...

wtf do you think they are check calling with? Gut draws and open enders seems likely to me. The same straight draws that just made SF's...

oie vae, sometimes i get worried i wont be able to make a living off poker for the next X years but then just when i start to feel down a nice ole thread with a bunch of meatheads comes along and picks my day right up.

gnight all, you make me happy.

  30. I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said (plus I'm nowhere near as good as you guys) but, SukoutonmeAA finished the tournament in 8th place. Not too bad.

    That's it.
