Cloutier also finished in 5th place in 1988, won by Johnny Chan, and in 3rd place in 1998, won by Scotty Nguyen.

T.J. Cloutier was Card Player Magazine's Player of Year in 1998 & 2002

I don't get why someone would want to own a wsop bracelet they didn't win. What is the point?

I'm not surprised he pawned the bracelet, but I am surprised that it took him this long.

Well... they are made of solid gold... and jam packed full of gemstones...

For us as poker players obviously it doesn't make sense but for most people? Also, rich people like to collect stuff that looks pretty.

Ha yeah, a friend linked me to this yesterday. Needless to say i found it pretty amusing and also wondered the same as the others in this thread.

I'd heard all the TJ stories there were to hear over the last few years, but then witnessed them first hand in Vegas this summer.

I was waiting for a friend to go to dinner by the Amazon room and TJ zooms up to this guy nearby on his scooter. TJ proceeded to beg for a stake in a $2k event saying he promised he'd pay if he cashed etc. Guy said no and was in the middle of explaining why and TJ sped off disinterested.

A few days later i saw him at the craps tables....

I think the point of this thread was more to LOL @ the degenerate than the sale of a WSOP bracelet. LOL TJ

Didn't Negreanu go broke like a year or two ago, then make a comeback? I mean I guess they are never really broke since they are a tight network of degens who feed off each others rolls and such.

Don't see how that's possible. He's the face of PokerStars, always has winning years in tournaments, and is a pretty good cash game player. And from what I've read/heard about him he's not a degen like other poker players, but I could be wrong.

What is wrong with you people?!?!? YOU are the biggest degenerate in the world if you take joy in laughing at other people's misfortunes. You must have been rolling on the ground laughing, pissing all over yourself, when you heard about the earthquake in Haiti. Idiots, grow up. The world will be a better place when you all do.

I'm pretty sure you just compared TJ Cloutier's craps addiction to a natural disaster that killed hundreds of thousands (potentially) at least that's kinda how it came into my ears.
