  3. so you end up with 50k from 100?

and that's not enough to quit gambling for awhile?

please god, just 1 time, 1 time lord.

give someone who deserves the luck a break.

I'm a life nit cuz i value 50k? then what the phuk is a risk taker? someone who doesn't value a million?

See, when you fully support yourself on poker, you take risks, but you also utilize common sense. As much as I am all for getting and pushing a rush, I also like to make sure I have something to show for all those hours put in. For example, I had an over 50k month in Feb. so, you know what I did? I took 30k of it out and locked in profit. The other 20k I added to my online roll and am using it to play a ton of 26-300$ MTT's supplemented with a ton of SNG's to also generate rakeback. This literally ensures my chances of going busto are slim to nil and that over the next few months, I will get a great return out of that 20k. Life nit or someone who isn't stupid enough to put all their eggs in 3 or 4 tournaments instead of across 200 tournaments?? you be the judge. But I'll tell you this much...when the story of jdpc27 is written, it won't include anything about sleeping on a bench outside the rio.

As for my life sucking..I'll give you that. I mean..it really sucks to take vacations all over the world every year (Amsterdam, London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid on tap for 09), sit on the couch in my pajamas on my fulltilt dual 30 in monitors while flipping channels on the fulltilt 50in plasma, while my hottie g/f who tolerates my poker obsession due to said vacations helps support my career by rolling me a nice fattie to get over the numerous bad beats i will suffer today so that i don't break said 30 in and 50 in fulltilt screens. Meanwhile, tomorrow I will wake up at whatever time I feel like, work only if i am in the mood, and still probably make more tomorrow than most do in a week... However, none of this will provide me with any pleasure because among my fellow p5's, i'm only viewed as a half degen cuz i practice some form of discipline and control....god damn maturity..I mean..if it helps my rep around here, before i settled down and became such a life nit, i did spend a ton of money over the years on barsluts, hookers, and weed.. Am I cool now? Difference between me and a total degen? I value and respect lady poker for all that she is and does for me...phuk man..after reading this i realize how much my life sucks..*SIGH* Please oh please pass me the shotgun xmas32 so that I can end the misery that is my life....

    JD

Wow JD man you got the greatest life ever dude (seriously, no sarcasm).
Wish my woman rolled me a fatty to get over bad beats, I would prob hit a 5 figure score then. I bet you have a good poker chair too.

  7. Interesting story. Good luck.

I wont judge you. Some say you are a degen and if you are i wish you well and hope you get it to a place you can live happily at.

Others seem annoyed that you have no respect for money and won at roulette whilst seeming not to deserve it.

Hey, much rather the money in your pocket than the casinos and anyway who the fuck would i be to tell you what to do with money?? Do as you please.

Hopefully you have learned from this experience.

haha this is funny coming from a guy who made a month long bet and lost. Then when it was time to pay up stopped replying to emails and messages.
  10. I don't get it. Whats wrong with you guys. You care so much about others you get upset.

He was nice enough to write about an experience he had wich I find pretty amusing to read and all he gets is some whining babys crying their eyes out over his successful vegastrip.

    Get something better to do!!

Edit: And whats up with so many people thinking it's cool to smoke weed?
  11. My friend, you need help. You have a gambling addiction. And if you don't control it, it will destroy your life. Get some help. Get an education and go back to school. We are not all meant to be profesional gamblers and poker pro's. Do the research. Only a hand full of people are successful playing poker profesionally.
  12. He'll have a better story to tell his grandkids than "I practiced perfect BR management and was able to enjoy a reasonable standard of living before graduating college and working for the man for 40 years". He's young and he doesn't have a wife and kid - fuck it. You guys think Phil Ivey doesn't have a story like this? Half a dozen stories like this? GL to you sir. I wouldn't recommend your habits or your lifestyle to anyone, but it's your life.

this has to be a level...

What's so cool about being sober?

BTW...I don't smoke to be cool...I smoke cuz i like it...and i don't think it is something that I should have to hide or be afraid to talk about. Smoking weed is like getting up and taking a shower...just part of the daily routine and out here in Cali its pretty much legal anyways...Last time I checked, I've never seen someone walking down the street with their mom's TV so they could buy a dime bag.

    How bout this story?

Op went to vegas and turned 1k into 50k. Op then took that 50k, wisely invested half of it, rolled the rest into a bunch of tournaments and that 50k became 500k, which became 3 million. You see this house you are sitting in grandkid? Yup..poker bought that. You see the cars out front...yup..poker bought that...in fact..i haven't worked last 15 years..yup poker did that.

Some guys like to tell a summer's worth of stories...others like to tell a lifetime of stories.

Just cuz you are young and don't have a family doesn't make blowing a year or two's worth of salary any more justifiable..it just makes you less degenerate then the guy who gambled with his mortgage money. I mean, it wasn't like Op was gambling with money he didn't give a phuk about..he had already lost that and was gambling with borrowed money from an online cash advance service...and i can't help but laff as i read what i just typed...

The point of my reply to op was if you use some degree of common sense during his degenerate phase, he may never have to work for the man at all. But, phuk me for trying to save the guy from working at blockbuster...I'll go back to my smoke invested room now so i can piss off the anti weedheads while i'm at it too.

This is the best line in the story. What a disappointment this guy must be to his family. In having such little regard for money - and not in the "I'm rich so I can throw it around" kind of way, but the "I'm a degenerate loser who needs professional help if only I could afford it" kind of way - you'd have to expect this guy to be dead/living on the streets in, what, years? months? weeks? presently?

If the OP is reading this or if anyone else just thinks I'm being flat out rude, I gotta say that I'm sorry and I don't wish suffering on anyone who hasn't brought it on themselves. But Mr. "4 7 17 0 00" pissed away money he could have used to put a down payment down on a house or any number of other things that could have put him on the path to an adult life. When you turn down those opportunities when others have to struggle for them I just can't have any respect for that. Rant's over.

Not only are you rude but more importantly you are Ignorant

  23. alright..i'll gtfo...can't phuk with andy mcleod..

phuk it...maybe i'll join on the bandwago..i got 50k...so if i got this much money it must be for a reason...i'm entering every event in the wsop till i go broke or get rich. stay tuned for my rio bench story.. Life nit my azz.

  24. OP needs to start a roulette training site obviously.
  25. All you haters in this thread must completely suck at reading comprehension. The guy finished school, and invested a large chunk of his money in the stock market. Did you miss these parts of his post(s)? I don't see how this is any different then some guy depositing $1000 and playing some of the Sunday majors and winning one for a huge score, that happens all the time. Is it because his $$ for his poker run came from a monster roulette heater? If you read the story, he plunked down $100 of his $1200, hit the first spin and the rest was history. It wasn't like he took all $1200 and put it down on one spin...now that would be degen.

And to jdpcsgghgia15484393, maybe poker isn't the right career path for you if you can't even handle being called a 'life nit' on some random poker forum. I didn't even bother reading your brag post about life because lets face it...your 31 (supposedly) and you can't even spell words like 'ass', 'shit' and 'life' correctly. Seriously, just do us a favor and stick to posting HH and analysis as you've been on a nice run tourney wise and what your doing is obviously working. However, as a present to you, if I snap off a huge SCOOP score, when I buy my new BMW I'll make sure to put 'jdpc27' on the license plate and send you a picture. That way, if you are fortunate enough to have kids down the line in 20 years when your son/daughter sees that picture and asks you, 'What's the deal with this dad?' You'll have your own great story to tell.

Agree with Appst....JDPC basically summed up everything I think bout ppl and not valuing money, and about how us BR ppl work hard to not go busto. Some people have huge breaks in their careers, and if they just wouldn't suck at life, no telling where they'd be at. Well said JDPC.
  27. Not a bad read.
