  2. you basically priced this dude in on every bet you made. There is a big difference between getting max value out of your hand and letting your opponent pursuit his draws cheaply. You're only at 12 BBs and the drastic short stack at the table, the blinds + his preflop raise alone add almost 50% to your stack even if he folds. You should just shove in preflop here and be happy with either decision our villain makes. If you don't, you shove the flop 100% of the time.
  3. I go by the rule of 10 to 15 Bb left the only way I play a hand is all in preflop. This may sound extreme but in my opinion it is the only bet you can make that short stacked. The only weapon you have left is the power of the all in. If you just get the blinds so be it. You would have forced that caller to make a big all in call compared to normal re-raise or preflop raise. If you played it the way you did I would recommend all in after the flop. Heres is a little piece of advice that helped me greatly MAKE people pay big for draws. If you have a good read that a person is on a flush/straight draw make a bet that they will not want to call for a draw. If they call the big bet and the turn doesn't help the flush or straight draw push it all in. YOU will have people call and draw out on but hey thats poker. Every other time they will fold or call and not get there card.
  4. The min reraise from a short stack is an obvious big hand to any half-observant player, and since he is one of the big stacks, it prices him in to see a flop to try and crack your big hand.

I see you having 3 options here:
    - straight re-shove preflop, but that wastes some of the strength of your hand as he probably is not calling
    - reraise to 1k or so, then shove any flop. This has the same effect as shoving as it is committing you to the hand, but gives him the chance to catche a piece of the flop and call.
    - just call the raise since you have position, and hope one of the other big stacks catches a hand and trys to isolate. Even if no-one does and we see a flop, you can shove over his impending c-bet and hope he has caught enough of it to call.

Since you are so short compared to the others and really need to double up here to be any chance of winning, i prefer the higher risk/higher gain of option 3.
  5. santulli i think pushing here is a waste - he still has an M of about 8.5, but he really needs to double up to have any chance of winning the tournament.
i see AA as being too strong a hand here to waste just picking up the blinds, particularly as we have position, just went through the blinds, and there are no antes in play.
