  1. no offence to the OP, but you dont exactly appear to be crushing the low level SNGs or MTTs (according to sharkscope). so how are you going to go about making enough to live on at midstakes? having to money to play midstakes, or any level for that matter, is one thing, but having the skills to earn a living there is something totally different.

(not bringing stats up to ridicule or anything, just to show that it may not be the best decision to become an online pro).
  2. I am going to be blunt: you have no chance

It sounds harsh but it is the truth. I looked up ur stats and sht and you should not do this. you have no chance at all, dont do it.

I am good enough to play poker for a living, have done it (did not enjoy it). I have had the results and still dont think i would ever play professionally (unless i had to)... and you havent had any real results and are considering it? Im sorry, but you really have no idea what it takes to play professionally. Not only do you not have the br, but you probably dont have the skills (and br+skills does NOT mean you can actually play professionally, it is just a starting point)

you really have no idea what you are doing

    weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

EZ life when u ship a score most of us won't get all at one time. Keep it realistic lol.

Before that I had about 150k profit with nothing more than a 10k score(2). Most all of that profit was from from tournies $50> which is VERY realistic.

come to harmony and timberline and bring ur wallet so i can make a 10k score

Also if you're moving in w/ your g/f and can't make enough to pay her rent, you need to man up a bit and get a real job as well as play poker.

what exactly are you saying with this one is what I wanna know?? I really hope it's not what I think it is.....that's really sad if it is

    dude ... what the fuck?

I play a full schedule of MTT's, SAT's and SNG's. In any given month I count on one of them to perform well in case the other does not. We all know variance is a biatch...and when you are playing 1k+ in tournaments a day plus anywhere from 10-50 sng's a day that cost 110+, it is very easy to drop 10k in a month...not that it happens regularly, but it does occurr. The two swings in particular are both accountable mostly to sng swings. Many months that are break even or small winners could be huge months if i only won that key flip.

Don't forget that you still have to claim poker winnings as a source of income for tax purposes. I just learned this the hard way after only playing full time for 4-5 months last year. Good luck...
  10. Prostuntman, I'm actually married so I may have been a little out of line, but my thinking is if you can't make enough money to pay full rent for the apartment, you're in deep shit. If she loses her job/ leaves him, or whatever, it would seriously suck to have to find a new place to live, just cause he's banking on having half his rent paid.

Just meant it in manner that he needs to be a bit more prepared to paid 1/2 rent just in case...
  11. 1. Keep job. Use job money for necessities (rent, food, etc).
    2. Crush cash games. Divide these profits into: money for fun stuff, savings, and poker bankroll.
    3. Study tournament play. Use some of your roll for small-mid stakes MTTs to try to hit a big score.

If you do hit a big score, still keep your day job. This way you always have income to fall back on during those months-long downswings. You'll never be playing on scared money as long as you know you can cover your expenses with day-job money.

I can't think of a more ideal situation. Your poker would pay for itself and cushion your savings in case something horrible happens. Your day job would allow you the comfort to take big shots from time to time.

GL whatever you decide to do.
