  1. I sometimes lose my desire to play the game and tend to do so out of habit more than real want. I am a succesful 6 person SNG player (5-50 level), but often, just feel like I am going through the motions. Does anyone else at the low levels go through this? I just wanted to share my feelings on this.
    Thanks
  2. gotta be a level...

But on a serious note, any successful low limit players most likely will not lose their passion for the game because they have aspirations to take their game to a higher level. It's when you get to the peak that burnout would occur.
  3. What's a level?

I find myself playing the game alot out of habit, more so than the passion I had several years ago. I am wondering if this will pass in time, or if other players went through this and got over it. I would like to take it to the next level, but don't know if I have what it takes. I have taken a week off before and that only was a temp. fix. Seriously, any insight would be appreciated.

  4. I have never really had this problem. At times I get a little burned out, take off a few days or a week and I feel refreshed and ready to go again.
  5. PM SCTrojans, sounds like y'all are in the same boat. Maybe you could get a discount if you vacation together.
  6. Yep. But that just means you should not play that day/night. If it's not your job, why make it one.
  7. I'm still a low limit player and I consider myself a fairly decent player. Of course, I still have a LOT to learn and can always get better.

I personally am not losing passion for the game since there are still levels that I can achieve. Hit a certain $$ in my BR, reach a level where I can move up to a higher level game, enjoy when I get my first 3-digit, 4-digit, 5-digit, 6-digit cash. As long as there are still things to achieve, there's really no reason to lose passion for the game (unless you're tired of it).

As long as there is something to achieve, the competitive nature in me says, can't lose passion. May burn yoruself out, but can't lose the passion. It will always be there, just need to find a way to kick-start it.
  8. I kind of just feel like SCTrojans does, I really can relate. There are levels for him to beat I'm sure, I mean, WPT, WSOP, but he feels burn out, I do to. That's all I'm saying. I think it happens on all levels of play.

  9. I really enjoy the game so its hard for me to relate to ya'll losing your passion for the game. When I'm at work during the day I really think about poker alot, guess I'm losing my passion for work.
  10. Go play limit HE for a while, your passion for SNGs will come back real quick.
  11. I lose my passion all the time i have been a low limit grinder for 5 years and lets just say this name was not a accident.
  12. Ive had to withdraw alot of money lately and have had to stop doing all the tournies i really like, ie all the dear ones. So now im grindin out some lower buyins and im losing my love for the game a tad right now. Hopefully we can both just play through the rough patch and just look forward to playing higher buyins i suppose...

  13. I always turn on my 360 when i start to feel like that . Grind out 6 hours of halo and u will want to hit the tables again
  14. Go get a job in wal mart pharmacy department or something similar and see how much you're "burnt out."

We seriously don't know how fortunate we are to be making $ playing a game that took no degree or 40 inch vertical to achieve.

I've grinded my ass off playing super low and low limits to help pay for college and now for building a br and in no way do I ever feel burn out.

The only people I feel that could become burnt out are ones rolled to play anything they want at anytime and anywhere in the world.

Until then theres too much to play for
