Hi.
My story here is well chronicled and I've been asked to not go into detail in it on the forums.
All you need to know is that I'm a (semi-broke) freshman in college with almost 250k in pokerstars winnings :).
I just am making this post like TranquilChaos and hope to have support and success like him.
After spending a month in my college, Muhlenberg, I was on the verge of suicide/hardcore depression and hating life.
I recently spent a weekend with friends at my home state, home college, and I've never enjoyed life more. It was like I died, and am born again. From being stuck in a 5foot by 5 foot dorm, not having any friends or talking to anyone and only having a computer screen, to an actual apartment. Just being in a room with a bunch of people I knew from high school, and new people making friends, listening to music, drinking, having a good time...it means everything. Just giving your old boys high fives or girls hugs...having dinner with people rather than alone in your room...the little things are what make life and you forget them if your miserable. I know that I'm making a big mistake probably, and I'm going to try to actually get into a new school, but it might be tough after dropping out.
I'm gonna try to make it as a poker player, and have several backers, friends, enough money to live (apartment real chip split 5 ways) Wish me luck...and I expect a lot more hardcore sng grindings than tilt 5k hus/mtts.
IM MAKING THE JUMP
I also have a buyin saved for WPT atlantis and will hopefully see a lot of you there in January.
Gonna go to sleep now.
PZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ -
stealth, listen hard and listen fast
you need to enjoy college, go out and get fucked up
get crunk, listen to shitty rap music that is all about hooks
get an std (just make it bacterial, so much easier to deny),
actually on second thought....wrap it up...we dont need any lil stealths running around...
go to class, get good grades (as much as they hate to admit it..girls are suckers for geeks who can present themselves well)
GET LAID BRO-F Poker for a bit -
your probably not giving yourself time to get used to school. I didnt enjoy my freshman year at all. However, I do think you should do whatever you want as long as you dont feel any regrets with it. If quitting school has you worried, or leaves you feeling guilty, then you probably shouldnt do it. By the time you read this tomorrow there will be a million posts telling you that your making a mistake but really, while you may be making a mistake, I think its tough to say that if you are considerably happier elsewhere.
Don't keep yourself in a situation where you feel suicidal simply because American society says you HAVE to be there in order to live a decent life. Many of the people who reply to this with the usual "stay in college, get your degree bro" are your typical fully functional guys who have very little problems with depression etc.
To summarize, do what makes you happy, particularly if its not a self destructive decision. (dont want you to think I advocate a heroin habit simply because it makes you happy.)

In the munk's defense, I'd be depressed if I went to Muhlenberg too.

Till I get to the bottom and I see you again -
