  1. Unless you win of course.

Honestly, if you have read any of my posts recently (why should you?) you would know I have been running horribly.

I'm a low limit player and played the Early Doubles today, busted out of the B game getting near the bubble, went deep in the A game.

Busted out third when we got it all in after an Ace hits the flop, me holding A 10 and other guy had A 4, when he rivered a 4 I wasn't thinking at all how making third is gonna help my roll that has been crushed lately, all I can think about is that million chip pot and surviving 1200+ players only to have that happen.

I should honestly be pretty happy to add $500 to my account, but I am walking away pissed about that 4 on the river.

    MTT's are stupid.......
  2. bubble the ft of the $50k on ftp....fml

  6. MTT's do pwn souls, no doubt there. I gave up weed not long ago and can't play em anymore.
  7. play cash
  8. thats why jen harman says she doesnt like playing MTTs (as compared to cash game), because there's only one person who doesnt leave the table upset...
  9. If youre not happy turning a 6 Dollar Buy in into 500. You need to reevaluate why your playing this game.
  10. i was about to make a post about this but i see its already here. After finishing 27th and 28th in fields of 1350 and 1550, all i did was 4x my buyin. I felt like a rape victim after they were both done. I just decided im not gonna play a 200+ MTT after this. I have a newfound respect for Anntte winning the Sunday Hundred Grand(15000+) and WSOPE ME. How does one go about doing this?

zzzz worst post ever, i feel you op this shit is gut wrenching. so often i'll finish playing for the day and be like mannn im stressed and need to take some time away from the game. but come the next day i'll be in that 100 rebuy again like a straight degen
  12. 10th in the stars warm up, AJ<1010 to take the chip lead into the final table.....great feeling.

70 something place in full tilt $500, million guarantee JJ<44 for an above average stack all in pre.....tourney poker - god i can't even think straight this morning, lol, so sick.
  13. el oh el donkaments.
  14. I've often thought about this. 80-85% of the time you don't even make the money and feel unlucky and/or dumb, and then you usually end up feeling that way unless you go all the way. Then when you do win it is only at the expense of the vast others who now feel unlucky and/or dumb.

The key is to not be results-oriented (easier said than done). Get back to thinking of poker as gambling and not a game of just skill. Make your best decisions and then have fun with the rest. Success will eventually follow.

just a general question. As a 109 rebuy regular what type of "poker goal" are u trying to achieve?

I can answer for all the 109 rebuy regulars, win to cover their sunday buyins.
  17. It can be frustrating as hell, no doubt. Somone a lot wiser than me recently posted that you need to change the way you think about tourny play and be less "results oriented". Focus on your own play and decision making and as long as you played your best, that is all that matters. Looking at stats, I believe that if you cash more than 20% of the time, you would be in the top 90 percentile. That's not too shabby.

so very untrue. 1st of 20% cashing means ur cashing TOO much and playing to cash not win which is bad. 2nd PLB points are like almost completely meaningless because you can be #1 in the plb and be a losing player. Although this definately isnt the case for former number 1's im just saying its possible and i guarentee you there are players in the top 100 that are losing players but play high buyins and high volume and just rake in plbs.

He's trying to make 1M, in order to pay me for poker lessons. After that he'll be ready to go out and make 2M.

  20. I'm pretty sure Gboro is just trying to gain notoriety with this poker thing to enhance his marketability as a Rex Grossman impersonator.

I know you are jealous of my success, I can understand that. Just looking at your recent scores I feel like shipping you a few bucks.

    I <3 DD

PS: Some people know about this cause they were watching, but I actually have a funny story regarding my chop in the 3r on stars 2 weeks ago. Allow me to amuse you:

After 10-11 hours playing, being this the longest I have ever been in a single donkament, I went to the FT as the 2nd shortie, and there was this guy with millions of chips, playing bad and getting lucky. He spewed chips around, then proceed to get them back thru suckouts, etc. I managed to double up twice thru him, and then proceed to bust 2 players to get even with him going to HU. When we started the HU match, my laptop frozed, the radio station I was listening to started to make the worst noise ever, and on top of that, I could hear the cards been dealt on the table, but I couldn't see them, and everything else was frozen.

The only one thing working was the table chat, and right away the guy says " Do you want an even chop"? I was like " Yesssssssssssss pleasssssssseeeeeeee, i'm tired, have to wake up soon, etc. All BS!!!! I couldn't fucking see my cards, and when I managed to actually see them, they appeared on my screen after the hand was folded, or so I thought, becasue when I was able to see cards, I was listening the new hand been dealt. It was the weirdest thing ever.

We sat out, and while we waited for support to come to the table, I managed to start my wife's laptop and re-open everything. I was happy for the cash ( 5K is A LOT of money for me ), and specially for the fact that his request came in the best timing ever, but I also knew I could've outplayed that guy and take the whole thing down.

    I would've felt like MINI-DD!!!!!

  23. I understand the posts about turning $5 buyin to $500, but still, the win was right there if that river doesn't fall that way.

Think of it like this, if I win that hand the other person is in pretty bad shape and out in a few more hands. That makes the river 4 worth about $380 since second paid $880 or so.

If it's about winning then thats why the four on the river sucked.

If it's about the money then $380 is why the river sucked.

It just seems like I shouldn't have been so upset to win $500 and thats why I posted this. Most disappointing $500 ever I guess.

  25. I posted pretty much the exact same thing in BB last week, doomswitch - 1st had 330k, me and another guy have ~130k a piece. I wake up with KK in the bb, button shoves with 88, snap call and ready to kick ass HU until the flop brings dude quads. It can be pretty dissapointing at times.
  26. That's one of the main reasons why I don't play MTTs, they last too long and it's not worth it just to cash because of the amount of time you put into it, you just barely covered your buy in. If you get into like the top 1-2% of the field it's worth it to play and of course winning the MTT is the biggest pay out, but seriously it's hard to play for how ever many hours and win. Too much. And of course busting out at the bubble on a very long tournament, must be the worst feeling ever. All that playing for nothing.
  27. yeah, sigh..... soooooo many times Ive played for countless hours only to get a small token compared to 1st... last fri 11 1r1a get QQ early at final table startand obv run it into AA, last night 5r played for about 8 hours to bust in like 24 for $116...
  28. I'm suprised no one has given this answer. the reason I sufer through so many mtt's, bad beats, bubbling cashes, and FT's is the feeling u get when u actually tid. the is no sweeter feeling. its the rush of fading the bad beats, winning the coin flips, and suckingout royally several times and winning. keeps me coming back. it does suck the next day thinking u got it all figured out and nothing can stop u now just to cash 0 times the next week.
