Being a non-USA allows me access to the OnGame network where I took part in the MANSION Poker WSOP Satellite Qualifier.
I originally won two satellite seats and as per their T&C they exchanged the second ticket for $250 cash.
Fast-backwards to last week, I then received an e-mail inviting me to a Pocket5s WSOP Satellite Tournament awarding 8 seats to members who signed up under them. Given the overlay (22 players), how could I not play being that this is a promotion for those signing up under P5s. I was fortunately enough to make it to the top 8, and began to initiate a conversation with MANSION Poker about an exchange for the third ticket, being open to what they offer as per their T&C. Their response:
Thank you for your query regarding your MANSION account.
Please be advised that MANSION Poker will only credit you for one extra WSOP super Satellite tournament ticket. As you have already been credited on the 9th of June for an extra WSOP ticket, we will not exchange the Poclet 5's ticket for you.
Why the use of the mis-interpretation MANSION Poker?
http://www.mansionpoker.com/promotions/mansion-wsop-mania/terms-and-conditions.html
"24. Players who win two tickets to the MWM Super Satellite via any of the MANSION WSOP Mania Promotions will be offered a cash alternative of $250 for the second ticket. Subsequent tickets won will be dealt with on an individual basis."
Why not state:
"24. Players who win two tickets to the MWM Super Satellite via any of the MANSION WSOP Mania Promotions will be offered a cash alternative of $250 for the second ticket. Subsequent tickets won will NOT BE GIVEN ANY CREDIT FOR."
Having written "Subsequent tickets won will be dealt with on an individual basis" gives room for interpretation that depending on how valued of a player, will depend on what type of valued exchange will be made.
This makes me extremely aggravated as a player. I hope MANSION Poker comes to their senses, otherwise their are plenty of OnGame networks to play at.
Adam, being that you have contacts to MANSION Poker, can you offer any support?
Thanks -
I understand it says what it says in the T&C, but bottom line--it's terrible business practice.
However, as time goes on, I'm understanding this is the industry standard.
Sad, but reality.. Maybe send them an e-mail linking this post and hope for the best. -
The satellite was actually last Sunday. I took them 4-5 days to get back to me, which by then was Monday.
