  1. Jim McManus article in The New Yorker about Obama as a poker player

    http://www.newyorker.com/talk/2008/0...a_talk_mcmanus

This is not intended as an endorsement
  2. obama plays poker, hes not hilary and not republican

    we have ourselves a winnner!

edit* and hes not muslim, i looked it up
  3. Raised in muslim schools running a country founded on Christianity....nice
  4. madrasa means school. He was taught is a SECULAR madrasa i.e. a school. SIGH
  5. Also this country was not founded on christianity...idiot. Sorry just too much. This country was not only not founded on christinaity but seperation of church and state is one thing I am most proud about my country. You should be as well. Obama for the record went to a secular school called a madrasa because that is the name for school.
  6. good argument imo

  7. Regardless of revisionist history, this country was founded by Christians and with many ideals of the Christian faith in mind at the time of it's founding. The separation of church and state was meant so that the Angligan (Episcopalian) church didn't get preferential treatment over any other or vice versa. I am not a religious person, but to argue this point is laughable. The ACLU can argue it all they want based on how the Constitution is written, but this is revisionist crap.

Regardless, this is Poker Discussion, not politics and not religion....not even OT, so let's leave it at that.

  8. The next Phil Ivey?
  9. 1/ pretty much all history is revisionist, from a 4th grade textbook to howard zinn
2/ even if the country was founded by christians, that shouldn't mean anything now
3/ attacking obama because he went to a madrasa, b/c of his name, etc. is such crap and he's more christian than most of the ppl attacking him on those points
  10. It was founded by christians...actually a lot were Deists and not Christian at all but I digress. Nevertheless it was not founded as a "Christian" nation. This should not be hard to understand. It was founded as a secular nation. Proof of this is that their is no religious test for office and we have the 1st amendment. Sorry but your madrasa err school should have taught all these things.

p.s. not only was a political science major in college but i went to the university of michigan law school.
