  1. I am not wanting a mentor right now, but i plan on trying to find some help in a few months.

I am going to be looking for MTT help. I will be playing the nightly 10+1 to 24+2 mtts on full tilt as my main MTTs.

What i am wondering is what would be a good % of my winnings to offer a prospective mentor? I want to be some what generous with my offer that way i will attract more possible mentors, but at the same time offering 25% more than i should of would be bad for me. I have no idea what would be right, and i need help. Having the right % will help find a mentor, then make money for me and the person. thanks in advance.

  2. Just join pxf or somethin...No matter what % you pay a mentor from your tournys a solid MTT player will still be losing money by helping you instead of playing himself.

  3. I have gone the training site way before, and they have helped my game. The fall back is that it is hard for me to watch a long video and pay attention. I never did well in school because that sort of teaching doesn't work well for me.

On the other hand i learn faster and better from one on one instruction. Show me the instructions of how to put together a lawn mower and i can put it together once, but show me how to put it together your self, and i will remember the process long term.

Also many people that mentor in all sorts of fields state that they learn a lot form the student/teaching process.

I know the money made from a % of me will odds are not be life changing. I also think that with the right mentor the money that could be made plus all the other benafits (learning from the teaching process, helping someone out ect.) will make it a good situation for a mentor.

  4. It all depends on what kind of mentoring you're looking for (post-tournament HH review, live ghosting, etc.). At low buy-ins, offering a percentage may not be all that enticing...30-40% of the profits might not add up to much. Let's say you make the FT of a $24 MTT, and come in 9th for $300. You're only talking about $90 for 5-6 hours worth of time for your mentor.

A better way to do it might be a standard rate for a given amount of hours. As an example, Jennifear charges $120 for a 4-hour block of 1-on-1 time for SNG mentoring.
