  2. By the diminishing sizes of his bets and the fact he completed his SB preflop and didn't raise,
I would assume his bets are either weak attempts to take the pot with a bluff or very thin value bets with some sort of weak AX or second pair 10X.
Also the possibility that he had a hand he was semi-bluffing, like 79 that connected a bit on the turn and then never really got anywhere on the river.

Not knowing what you had, I think if your hand was extremely weak you did well to steal the pot from him,
and if you had a good top pair or some sort of two pair, i think you could have raised less than all-in on the river if you were looking to get called, because he was not indicating much strength so if your all-in is an attempt to get value out of your hand, it is a poor attempt.
  3. J9 or 88?
  4. My initial thought are maybe a club flush draw, but his river bet really looked like he wanted to see a cheap showdown, so maybe a weak 10-2 or 8-2 type of hand here (and he can play anything from a limped sb).

You either have a straight/flush/or absolutely nothing. The way this hand went, no way you should be pushing a pair on the river here. Your huge all in really looks like a steal, but isn't bad if you have the flush, since if he had 83 or something, he's probably going to call it (but won't reraise if you raise smaller).

Anything less than a straight, I really don't like the river bet, since it looks like a steal, and you might have had enough of a hand to win at showdown (betting with an Ax on the river really turns your hand into a bluff).
