  1. Table had been playing pretty tight, including the villain. I was probably the most active at the table, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Hadn't shown down any weak hands. Can I call on the turn here? I thought a set was possible along with a lot of combinations of broadway cards with a diamond. It's pretty hard for me to be drawing dead here. Wasn't quite sure what to do in the moment.

  3. I can't see you being ahead here very often, especially in a donkament... Players at this level always try to protect their "good" hands on flops they aren't sure how to play, so they always overbet all in (at least from my experience playing micros).

My guess is that he has 88+, flopped set, or diamond draw w/ overs, which you're an underdog to in this spot. So unless you want to gamble early for your tourney life this is an easy fold imo.
  4. you describe villain as tight and you're trying to get it in with second pair on a monotone flop? ambitious
  5. Thanks for the comments guys. What if, just for the sake of discussion, he leads at this pot say 50-80% of the pot. What do you do then?

in that case I definitely call and see the turn... 3betting is bad imo because if he 4bets all in then you're in a really bad spot with chips you shouldn't have committed in the first place.
  7. Thanks again. I have been in a rut lately and def. have run bad in a few big spots, but I am convinced there is much more I could be doing to build stacks in the early and mid stages. These are spots I used to avoid but just wanted to make sure my head is on straight and I try to improve/work through this stretch.
